Chapter 30 Silver Nights Part 3

Recap: We last left our poor little Farkle with Riley who just asked the question ever guy dreads to hear: Who are you? O BURN. Haha enjoy. WARNING THIS CHAPTER CHANGES POV ALOT.

Farkle
I looked at Riley shocked how could she forget who I am?!
"Wh-what do you mean? You know who I am. I'm Farkle!"
"Farkle....? Who's name is Farkle? I'm very confused right now so I would appreciate it if you were honest with me."
Riley's never questioned my quirkiness. We balanced each other out, it's always been like that.
"I-I'm sorry, but I need to go."
I ran out the door. Making Maya jump when I threw it open.
"Farkle! What happened?"
"She....she doesn't remember me. She doesn't remember anything. How could she have forgotten?"
Maya pulled me close into a hug. Her blonde hair brushed against my face.
"I'm sorry Farkle. I'm so sorry."
"So am I."

Maya
I let go of Farkle.
"You'll be okay. Riley will be okay. Everything's gonna be okay. I'm going to go see her, okay?"
He nodded and headed for the hot chocolate line.
I slowly pushed open the door. Riley sat on the couch staring at her feet.
"Hey."
She looked up at me, her eyes filled with tears.
"I'm so confused. Who am I?"
I slid next to her.
"Y-you had an accident. Do you remember anything?"
Riley grabbed my hands and looked me straight in the eyes.
"Yes. How could I forget you Maya?! My least favorite person in the world! The only person who's made my life miserable for the last 8 years. How could I possibly forget that?"
"No Riley...it's not like that anymore. We're- I'm not sure what we're, but we have an understanding."
She started laughing.
"Now I really know none of this is true. Maya we haven't been friends since 4th grade! Do you really expect me to believe that we put everything behind us?"
I stayed quiet, my lip started to quiver.
"Riley..... I can't explain it."
"Yeah that's what I thought."
She got up and left with the door swinging behind her.
I guess it's true what they say. The cold never bothered her anyway.

Lucas
I trudged through the 3 feet of snow on the ground. Why did I ever come here? Maya clearly doesn't want to forgive me and this time I don't think I can convince her. I heard the sound of fast footsteps behind me, they were getting closer. Suddenly I felt arms seize around me and I went face first in the snow, it sent chills down my body.
"What the he- oh it's just you."
Riley tilted her head.
"What do you mean it's just you? Do I know you?"
"Um yes? I'm the guy you kissed at homecoming even though your sorta friend might possibly like me, but you thought you were kissing Farkle. Even though you kinda dumped him for Charlie, except Charlie is the whole reason you kissed me."
She started to laugh, that cute high pitched one.
"Okay I think I'm more confused than I was a few minutes ago. I sound like such an awful person! Was I really that bad?"
Why is she asking me these questions?
My phone buzzed it was a text from Maya.
Maya: Riley lost her memory. If you run into her don't tell her anything.
Whoops too late.
"Why don't we get you inside?"
I grabbed Riley's wrist, but she yanked it away.
"No! I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on."
I sighed. This is gonna be harder than I thought.

Maya
I opened the door to our cabin very slowly, hopefully Riley hasn't realized yet that this is where she's staying.
"Can I help you?"
My heart raced at the sound of Lana's voice.
"Geez don't scare me like that! And um no I'm just here to grab some stuff."
She moved aside to let me walk.
"Well hurry up I-I have something to do."
I stood still for a moment.
"You mean...you're taking the test?"
She nodded.
"I-I..I'm waiting for the results right now."
Lana's eyes started to water and soon tears were spilling down her face. I ran over and hugged her.
"Oh honey why did you have to do this to yourself?"
She just cried harder until an alarm on her phone went off.
"That...that's it. The tests are ready. Maya I can't do this, you-you look."
I inhaled deeply and stepped towards the bathroom. I looked down at the test and threw it into the garbage.
Lana peeked her head around the corner.
"Well?"
"Umm...come on let's get you a hot chocolate."
I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the door, we reached outside. Lana was strangely quiet.
"Oh wait I forgot my phone. Meet me there okay?"
She nodded and I ran back to the cabin. I walked over to my bed, but it wasn't there. Right I left it on the bathroom counter.

Lucas
"Tell you what. I'll help you get your memory back if you let me take you back to your cabin for some rest."
Riley scrunched her eyebrows thinking.
"Ugh fine."
I took her hand and walked her to the cabin, I tried the door and surprisingly it was unlocked. I walked in first and nearly got plowed over by Maya.
"Why is everyone trying to kill me today?!"
She looked up at me for a quick second before looking at the floor.
"Sorry Lucas. I was just in a hurry...bye."
She pushed past me and Riley.
"That was weird, why is Maya in the same cabin as me?"
"Because you're friends."
Riley laughs and laid down on the bed.
"Okay sure. My head hurts can you get me a washcloth?"
I nodded and walked into the bathroom. Something in the trash caught my eye. I picked it up and my entire face went pale, it was a pregnancy test and it said positive.
Maya.

AHH!!!! Noooo Lucas you dummy! Ugh boys. I was so proud of myself because I wrote this on like Tuesday and was so ahead of things. Then I woke up this morning and was like oh yeah it's Saturday should probably publish my chapter. This was the last chapter at the ski lodge! Aw I had fun writing this 3 parter, even though it didn't solve ANYTHING. (Hm sounds like gm Texas😒).
