A/N: Hello everyone! So this is kinda just a recap/filler chapter before the big adventure about to come! I'm so excited for it!

Maya
This has been one of the most awkwardest walks to school ever. Riley won't even talk and I don't know why.
"What's up with you?"
"What? Oh nothing. I'm fine."
I let the subject go, she's been like this ever since homecoming.

Riley
We walked up the steps of school, Lucas and Farkle lingered outside the doors.
"Hey Lucas."
Maya smiled at him. Oh god this is gonna be a disaster.
"Lucas can we talk for a second?"
He quickly nodded and we headed over to the trees.
"Riley-"
"Lucas-"
We said in unison.
"That kiss...Riley, it was a mistake. And Maya can never know about it."
I nodded.
"I thought you were Farkle. I'm sorry."
"I thought she would come. I left her at the tree. I missed my chance, it was over."
"I understand. Friends?"
He shrugged.
"Let's just go back to the way things were."
I still understand. Maya will always come first. I'm just the sloppy seconds.

Maya
"I wonder what they're talking about over there."
Farkle shrugged.
"Just stuff."
"Okay, why is everyone acting so weird? First Riley barely talks to me, Lucas and her have private talks under the tree and now you're giving me the cold shoulder?! Is there something going on I don't know about?"
Farkle shrugged again.
"Nope. Just the normal stuff."
In our lives normal usually involves police, fighting or death.
"Whatever."
I rolled my eyes and headed into school. I walked up to my locker and got my books, everyone had gotten into Matthews class room when I entered.
"Maya, we need to talk."
Lucas whispered to me as I passed him.
"I have nothing to say to you."
I sat down behind Farkle and class began.
"Get in your project groups."
I sighed, that is not what I wanted to here.

"So, friendship. It can be difficult. And-"
I stopped Riley mid sentence.
"I'm sorry, but are we all gonna act like everything is okay? There's nothing friendly going on here. Like for instance I hate you Lucas. And Riley, you and I... I don't even wanna deal with that right now. But the mess with you and Farkle has been going on for too long. Let's just bury it all."
I looked between my three classmates, all of them were speechless.
"You know what happens Miss Hart when you bury things?"
I looked up at Mr.Matthews, I didn't know he had been standing there.
"What happens Matthews?"
"Eventually they will resurface. Messier and more complicated than before. Is that what you want?"
I sighed.
"But we can't solve any of them now-"
"Yes you can. The strongest friendships can be put through anything."
Geez does this guy always talk like a fortune cookie?
"Is this the kind of friendship you want to have?"
I shrugged at the question.
"What we have here isn't friendship Matthews. We're more like an unfinished jigsaw puzzle, all the broken pieces haven't been put together yet."
"And when will this puzzle be complete Miss Hart?"
I looked back at Lucas, Riley and Farkle.
"Some puzzles are meant to be left unsolved."
