------------------------------------------------------------
Maya
"Happy Thanksgiving my beautiful and loving family!"
I cheered jumping down the stairs.
"Haha oh wait I don't have a family."
I laughed and sat down at the table. Topanga set down a plate of pancakes in front of me.
"We may not be biological, but we're your family."
I smiled and dove into my puddle of syrup.
Riley sat across from me and gave me a death glare. She won't say anything in front of her mom, but I know she wants to tell me off so bad.
"Good morning Riley. Happy thanksgiving."
She rolled her eyes at me and started eating her pancakes. I honestly think that's the first time I've ever seen her actually put food in her mouth.
"God why am I so hungry?!"
Riley groaned and stuffed my food in her mouth.
"I guess if there's anytime to stuff your face, Thanksgiving would be it."
Farkle
"But I don't see what's wrong with me living here!"
I complained as the manager switched off all the power.
"What's wrong is you have no parent with you and no way to pay the rent. Now tell me where you are supposed to be or I'm calling an orphanage."
"No!"
I grabbed his arm.
"No...no. I'll- I'll go. I'm sorry."
I grabbed my bag and walked onto the cold streets of New York City.
"Farkle?"
I looked over at Mr.Matthews carrying a dozen shopping bags.
"Just picking up a few things for dinner. Are you going to your foster home?"
I slowly nodded.
"You know funny thing foster kids are. In fact one was due at my house over a week ago, but they never came. Now you wouldn't know anything about that would you?"
I gulped. He's known. He has known all along.
"It's not that I don't wanna live with you it's just-"
He stopped me.
"It's just the two teenage girls living with you."
I sheepishly nodded.
"Have dinner with us. And if you don't enjoy it then I'll pay for your hotel room."
He stuck out his hand.
"Deal?"
I grabbed it.
"Deal."
Riley
"Hey guys! Look who came for dinner!"
Dad walked through the door with Farkle close behind.
You have got to be kidding me. It's bad enough having Maya here, now Farkle too?!
"What's he doing here?"
My parents shared a look and I knew something was up.
"I know you don't remember, but we were supposed to have a foster kid live us. They never showed up because that kid is Farkle. He's trying out dinner with us tonight."
I grabbed my coat and phone.
"That's it! I can't take this place anymore! I don't know what the crap happened before I had my accident, but you all have gone crazy. I'm going to Charlie's."
Lucas
"Alright zombies it's time to die!"
I yelled grabbing my video game controller. I don't have anywhere to go for thanksgiving except my couch. I turned on the tv and started shooting.
"Yes!yes!"
"Aw come on!"
I groaned as the tv froze.
"Stupid thing."
Suddenly everything turned off and it became pitch black.
"Great. Just great. Now I have to go somewhere or I'll freeze myself."
I grabbed my coat and headed out the door, eh at least I'll get food now.
Maya
I sat in between Farkle and Isaac on the couch as we watched a football game on tv. Well they might be watching the game, I'm mostly trying to figure out why the one guy keeps screaming before they throw the ball.
Like bro chill they're gonna pass it to you.
There was a knock at the door, but the boys eyes were glued to the tv.
"Oh no it's fine don't get up."
I said sarcastically as I opened the door.
"Hey Lucas."
He awkwardly waved.
"Hi. The power went out at my apartment. Can I come in?"
I shrugged and stepped aside. He took a seat on the couch and became hypnotized by the football as well.
Ugh boys.
"Come on guys it's time for dinner!"
I rushed over to the table and immediately grabbed the bread. Lucas looked at me suspiciously.
"What? I like bread."
Everyone else took their seats and we all started grabbing food.
"Freeze!"
Topanga yelled.
"First I want everyone to say what they're thankful for. I'll go first. I'm thankful for Cory."
He smiled.
"And I'm thankful for my job where I can teach all these kids."
Isaac went next.
"I'm thankful for turkey."
Lucas followed.
"I'm thankful that I'm not sitting alone in my cold, dark and lonely apartment."
Farkle squeezed my hand.
"I'm thankful for my safety."
Everyone looked at me, my mouth went dry.
"Um-I'm um, I'm thankful for...my dad. He taught me the power of forgiveness and that's a hard thing to come by and I'm thankful he taught me."
Everyone stayed silent for a moment.
"Don't worry I know you'll work things out."
Topanga gave me a warm smile as Cory started cutting the turkey.
"And I'm thankful for all of you. All of you."
Riley
"Wow your moms an amazing cook!"
I rubbed my now stuffed stomach.
He shrugged.
"Unless you wanna gain 300 pounds from one meal."
I nodded and started playing with my hair.
"Where did the rest of your family go?"
Charlie smirked.
"Don't know, don't care. Maybe you and I will be more comfortable in my room. Hm?"
He softly grabbed my hand.
"Um I guess."
"Just relax Riley. Thanksgiving is all about relaxing."
GEEZ CHARLIE YOU DOG. NEXT CHAPTER IS GONNA BE GOOOODDD. Happy thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all have a very relaxing and enjoyable day with your loved ones! And eat lots of turkey! (Even though real turkeys terrify me). DONT FORGET. MY NEW BOOK COMES OUT TOMORROW. Home Is Where The Hart Is! Check it out tomorrow! It's gonna be fun!!
