Since girl meets Texas was ruined for I guess I'll finish writing this chapter because I have nothing to fangirl about.
*day of homecoming*

Maya
"Have you've seen Lucas today?..... Or Lana?"
Farkle looked up from his locker.
"I thought you and Lana were done."
"I'm still kinda her friend. It's just.... You can't tell Riley, but Lana wants to go with Charlie to the dance. I'm really scared she's gonna do something bad."
Farkle smiled.
"But you think of Riley as a friend right?"
"Um no. She's still an annoying little nerd."
I rolled my eyes to make it look convincing.
"Lucas skipped today."
I sighed, this could not be good.

Riley
"Come on! I wanna see!"
I squealed as Maya was getting into her homecoming dress.
(A/N: If you wanna see the dresses, photos above^)
She walked out of the closet and her mouth dropped open.
"Riley! I told you not to get a purple dress! Purple is my color."
I shrugged.
"I guess it's both of our colors now."
We walked to the living room, where Charlie was already waiting.
"Hey Riley."
"Hi. What do ya think?"
I gave a small twirl.
"Good. Ready?"
I stopped spinning and opened the door.
"Yeah. Let's go."
I waved to Maya as we left.
"Sure you don't want us to wait?"
"No-"
"She'll be fine, lets go already!"
Charlie complained as he practically dragged me out the door.
Oh yeah this is gonna be a great night.

Maya
"Lucas will not stand you up. He's better than that."
I whispered to myself as I stared at the clock.
Ten minutes.
He was supposed to be here ten minutes ago.
I sighed as I popped another chip in my mouth. I turned on the tv, I should be able to find some cheesy romantic movie on here.

The knock at the door shot me out of the couch. I looked at my reflection in the TV, my hair is a mess and my dress is all rumpled. I guess that's what happens when your homecoming date is an hour late. I trudged to the door and whipped it open.
"It's abo- Oh hi Farkle."
"Hi Maya."
"H-he's not coming. Is he?"
"No."
I felt the tears well up in my eyes.
"Farkle I'm so stupid. How could I be so dumb?! He's stood me up for 3 years now. 3 years! He's just a jerk, full of empty promises."
Farkle intertwined his hand in mine.
"Hey."
He lifted up my chin.
"Don't let Lucas ruin your night. Come on let's go for a walk in Central Park."
I let him lead me out of the building, it's a lot chillier now.
"Are you cold?"
"A little."
"Here."
He laid his suit jacket on my shoulders.
"Thanks."

Walking through Central Park with Farkle at my side is not how I imagined this night to be. But it's everything I wanted.
"Come on I wanna show you something."
He walked me over to a bench hidden among the trees. I looked up.
"Woah."
"Yeah. Riley and I went here on our first date."
"Why didn't you ask her to homecoming?"
"Oh because I- wait a minute is that Lucas?!"
I looked behind me and saw a dark figure standing in front of a tree. They looked up and I could see Lucas's face in the moonlight.
"Go."
I looked at Farkle.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. I have to get going soon anyway, I'm needed at the dance."
He walked away, the leaves crunching under his feet.
I walked over to the tree and silently watched Lucas as he dug into the earth.
"I'm sorry Maya, I-I just couldn't do it."
"Do WHAT Lucas?! Actually give me hope that good things can happen to me?! I know you apparently have a rough life, but what about me? After everything I've been through you couldn't give me one night of happiness!"
He stopped digging and looked up at me, the tears shined on his face.
"My older brother Noah died tonight exactly 4 years ago. My parents divorced tonight exactly 2 years ago. Sorry to disappoint you."
He threw down the shovel and walked off. I looked down and noticed a speck of blue in the ground. This must be what Lucas was digging up. I moved the dirt around a little more and picked up a small shoebox. I threw off the lid and examined the contents inside. The first item was a football jersey. I unfolded it, #16, must've been his brothers jersey. I picked up the next item, it was a picture of Lucas's family on Christmas. Lucas actually looked happy with his little Santa hat on. I cracked a smile.
The last object in the box was a folded piece of paper. I opened it, three words filled the page.
I'm Sorry Maya.

Riley
"Wanna dance?"
I asked Charlie as he took another sip of his punch.
"Hm? Oh uh no thanks. Man doesn't Lana look great tonight?"
"Sure if you're into cheap hookers."
I said as I grabbed another cookie.
Charlie grabbed my hand.
"I think you've had enough cookies."
He took it from me and set it back down on the table.
"What's with you?!"
He looked back at me.
"What? Oh nothing."
"Charlie. Just tell me."
I picked up another glass of punch.
"Don't drink that it's too sugary."
He roughly grabbed it from my hands.
"Tell me."
He sighed.
"Okay the truth is I was going to ask Lana to the dance, but she already had her 8th date booked. So I thought I could make her jealous by taking you."
I looked down, it's hard to see everything when it's so dark.
"I can't believe I was so stupid."
He lightly touched my hand.
"No Riley-"
"Don't touch me!"
"Riley I-"
"Ever since we met in elementary school I've always known I wasn't good enough for you. I'm so sick of feeling this way! You don't make me happy Charlie, you make me miserable."
He bit his lip, I'm causing him some serious public humiliation here.
"You know what else? I've been taking all that food away from you tonight because I know with just a few more cookies you'll turn back into that chubby little girl that no one liked. Isn't that right Riley? That's why you started starving yourself and guess what people still don't like you! So now you're just an ugly, skinny girl who's dateless on homecoming night."
I couldn't help it anymore, tears started spilling out.
"Hey!"
Charlie looked behind him, Farkle reached up and punched him straight in the nose.
"Ow! What the heck man?!"
"No one talks to my friend like that."
Charlie shook his head at me and left the gym.
"Thanks Farkle I really appreciate-"
My words were cut short when Farkle smashed his lips against mine. With him I felt safe. I kissed back, harder. This was it.
I pulled back and slapped my hand over my mouth.
"Lucas?!"

WHHHHAAATTTTT?!!!!!!
And if you're like oh Riley should've been able to tell it wasn't Farkle, yeah well I said it was dark in there so.
ANYWAY. I was gonna do this long thing about girl meets Texas but I barely watched it. (Let's not get into that)
