Chapter 21 Oh Charlie..

Maya
After the court let out, the rest of the Matthew's besides Riley and I went out to dinner. I let myself into the apartment with my key.
I stood in the doorway awkwardly as I watched Riley and Charlie make out on the couch.
"So this was your big emergency huh?"
They both jumped a little, just now remembering this was real life.
"Oh Maya h-hi."
Charlie awkwardly waved.
Riley stayed silent.
"Riley I've hated you a lot of times in my life, but this is the stupidest, most immature thing you've ever done. Farkle could've been put back to live with his mother! You're just lucky I was there to save the day."
Her shoulders dropped.
Charlie put a hand on her arm.
"Maya this was all my fault, I feel awful."
I shook my head in disbelief.
"Go to hell Charlie."
I headed for the door to leave because I couldn't stay here another minute without screaming.
I stepped into the hallway and took one look back at Riley.
"By the way I'm sure after everything that's happened today, Farkle will be happy to know his somewhat of a girlfriend cheated on him."
Riley got up and slammed the door in my face, I could hear her yelling on the other side.

Lucas
"Come on man just stay, I'm sure your foster home won't be that bad."
I told Farkle as he packed his suitcase.
"No. I was almost put in a foster home when my dad went to jail. It looked awful, I'm not going."
I sighed, this kids really stubborn.
"Then just say I'm your foster home."
He shook his head.
"No offense Lucas, but your moms barely around and I've never even seen your dad. This doesn't count as a foster home if it's just you and me."
A cab honked down below.
"That's my ride. Thanks for everything Lucas."
I watched as he wheeled his suitcase out the door, the way everyone leaves.

Maya
I sat in the cafe, drinking my coffee, watching cars drive by. How cliché of me. My phone started ringing, the number was blocked.
"What can I do for ya Hop-a-long?"
I heard him sigh on the other line.
"Stop joking Maya, this is serious. Farkle is in a cab on his way to I don't even know where! But we can't let him leave."
I looked out the window, dozens of cabs passed me, anyone of them could have Farkle in them.
"I thought you didn't have any friends to care about this much."
Lucas was silent for a minute.
"Maybe I'm learning to. Please Maya just help me."
I sighed and got up.
"Fine Ranger Rick."

Finding Farkle was a lot harder than I thought. There's like a million different cabs in this city! Lucas is lucky I'm so generous.

Farkle
"You can go in."
The door opened and I took a seat in front of the glass, picking up the telephone.
She sat down on the other side, a prison guard inches away.
"Hi."
"Hi."
"I'm sorry you didn't get on parole."
She let out a snort.
"Don't worry, I wasn't ready. I still need to work out some issues and when I do I hope we can try this family thing again."
I shrugged.
"We'll see."
"Visiting hours are over. All visitors please exit the building."
The announcer called over the loudspeaker.
I sighed.
"I guess I'll see you next visiting day."
She smiled.
"Bye Farkle."
"Bye mom."
I put the telephone back on the wall and watched her be led away. All because of me.
The guard smiled at me as I left, I opened the doors to find a familiar face waiting for me.
"Maya?"
I she looked up, still trying to catch her breath.
"I ran....5 blocks...after your....cab."
"What? Why?"
"Because Lucas was worried you were running away. H-how is she?"
I leaned against the wall a little, trying to find the right words.
"She'll be okay."
"And you?"
I gave a confused look.
"How are you doing?"
I smirked.
"I'll be okay."

AWWWW HOW SWEET. I just thought of a really good idea for this story when I was finishing writing this chapter!! I can't really give a teaser for the next chapter because I don't know who's problems it'll be about.
Riley?
Maya?
Lucas?
Charlie?
