Chapter 34 The Main Issue Is Not What It Seems

I wish, I wish with all my heart to get through this week without falling apart.
HOW I FEEL ABOUT MIDTERMS. I LITERALLY HAVE TO KNOW 63 VOCAB WORDS FOR MY BIOLGY MIDTERM. LIKE BRO I HAVE 5 OTHER TESTS BESIDES YOURS COME ON! And that is why I'm posting this chapter now so I can spend all day tomorrow studying! Yay can't wait to cram a ton of information into my brain I should remember from September! Anyway enjoy! (Oh and pay attention to the chapter title!)

Maya
I looked around the class and it was dead silent, everyone's staring at me. Even Matthews has held off his teaching.
"What?"
I looked at Riley for an answer.
"Nothing's happening anymore. We don't have anymore problems, our projects almost done and soon the school year will be done too."
I shook my head and stood up in front of everyone. Farkle used to do this in middle school, but now it's my turn.
"You think we can just end like this?! So abrupt, without any warning?"
I searched with my eyes across the room, right into Lucas and Farkle.
"Two people" I said making a gesture with my hand.
"Are hiding something in here. When they fess up, maybe we'll be done. But trust me, this....journey is far from over."
Mr. Matthews nodded and took his place in front again. I headed back to my seat, I could feel the boys eyes burning into my head.
"Belgium 1831......"
I zoned out for the rest of the lesson, there's plenty of time to learn about that stuff.

Farkle
The bell rang and I followed Lucas to his locker.
"Something you need Farkle? Usually after class people- you know go home."
I slammed his locker shut.
"Do you think Maya's onto us?"
Lucas sighed and banged his head against the wall.
"I don't know." He shrugged.
"You didn't tell her, right?"
I backed away a little, Lucas can get scary when he's angry.
"No- no! Why would I tell her something so....personal? You need to tell her, and soon."
"I will. Just not now, not when her and Riley's relationship was teared apart at the ski lodge."
I rolled my eyes because I know that's a lame excuse. They're friendship has been broken for years, what can one little piece of news do?

Maya
"Tell me what you know and tell me now."
I growled pushing Lana harder against the locker.
"Woah Maya calm down! I've got a baby in here remember! I don't know anything I swear. If you wanna know information then ask Charlie, he's always into people's business."
I looked over disgusted at the hideous devil.
"Yeah I'd rather not."
Riley rushed past me in track clothes, she was already sweating like crazy. I grabbed her arm.
"What are you doing?"
She was panting hard.
"I-I've been eating un-unhealthy from the holidays. I gotta keep up my health."
"Riley you're one of the skinniest people I know. Come on let's just go home."
I grabbed her hand, but she pulled away.
"No! I'm fine. See you at home."
Riley jogged away, back to the gym.
"Well the old Riley is definitely back."
Lana mumbled under her breath.
I nodded.

"Do you usually make your own dinner around here?"
Farkle asked walking into the kitchen gesturing at my cold pizza in my hand. I slid the box over to him.
"Matthews is still at school and Topanga's been in her room since I got home."
"I hope she's okay."
I shrugged. She's probably just busy with a case or something.
The door opened and Riley walked in sipping her water.
"Hey Riles we saved you some pizza."
Farkle said holding out the box to her. She stopped for a moment and stared at it.
"No, I'm not hungry."
I grabbed the box and pushed it in front of Riley's face.
"Stop lying! I know you haven't eaten anything all day. Now eat it or I'll make you eat it."
She lightly pinched a piece between her two fingers and took a bite.
"Mm tasty."
I happily smiled and left the kitchen.
"Come on Farkle, you're helping me with my math homework."

Farkle
I followed Maya to her room, but first looked back at Riley. Just in time to see her spitting out the bite of food in her mouth and the piece of pizza in her hand.
"There. Now you'll stay thin."
Riley whispered to herself.
I shook my head. All the warning signs were there, why didn't I see them?

AUGH! I don't know about you (but I'm feeling 22😂) just kidding I don't I know how I felt about this chapter. IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SEQUEL IT'S RIDICULOUS! I'm almost tempted to just tell you all about how Riley- oh wait nope gotta keep it a secret! Oh AND exciting news! I thought of an awesome one shot (and its Lucaya and Rucas so everyone will be satisfied) unless you're a riarkle or markle shipper or something else then sorry. But the one shot is coming NEXT weekend!
