Chapter 29 Silver Nights Part 2

A/N: I am literally the WORST at keeping promises. I had every intention of updating on Tuesday but the chapter wasn't finished and I had slight writers block and I was just lazy. But don't worry the schedule is back to every weekend! Thanks for all the votes,comments and reads! Okay enjoy!

Maya
It's the second day at the ski lodge and all the advisors are making us get out in the snow and be "social".
Yeah okay I think I'll just stay inside and watch people have "fun" through my phone screen.
"Come on Maya, no one's allowed to stay in their cabin."
Lana complained softly.
"And plus Lucas is waiting for you at the ski lift."
Riley added.
I rolled my eyes, Ranger Rick and I are not just gonna ride the ski lift and then magically everything will be okay.
All the girls stared at me for an answer.
"Ugh. Fine! Let's get this over with!"
I grabbed my coat and gloves, it's freakin 5 degrees out there and I'm not freezing my butt off just to look hot. I'm happy looking like a big puffy marshmallow.

Riley
"I knew these boots weren't made for the snow."
I mumbled to myself as I trekked down the path to the lodge.
"See even you're miserable! I knew we should've just stayed in the cabin."
Maya said. And for the first time I agreed with her, I wish we could all just go to Starbucks and laugh about the latest gossip we've heard.
(Cough cough @GirlofRead ).
"Hey Riley!"
Farkle happily waved, I ran over to him and hugged him. For warmth of course!
"Did you tell her?"
He whispered in my ear.
"No! I can't tell her something like that, Lucas needs to."
He nodded in agreement.
"Wanna go on the ski lift?"
I looked at the giant contraption, no one else seemed scared by it so why me?
"Ummm I'm good thanks. I'm gonna go over here now."
I slowly backed and away and then bolted towards the pine trees.
"Chickened out huh?"
I didn't even notice Maya standing there.
"Yeah and no offense to Farkle but he's not the big strong man I picture with me on that."
I said pointing to the lift.
"Good for you. Turning down the one chance you actually have with love, no big deal."
"What are you talking about? Charlie is still possible and Lucas and I could still after that-"
I stopped myself, Maya gave me the iciest glare I had ever seen. It might actually turn me to stone.
"After you what."
She didn't state it like a question, even though I knew I would have to give an answer.
"I uh I just meant....you know, stuff."
Maya stepped a little closer. She looked up at me, but right now I feel about 2 feet tall.
"I am going to ask you once and you're going to answer me directly. Did something happen between you and Lucas?"
"Yes! Okay yes something did happen between Lucas and I, but it didn't mean anything!"
Maya walked away, the snow crunching beneath her feet. Actually she was more wobbling since she had skis on.
"Aren't you gonna talk to me?!"
She spun back around.
"You just don't get it do you? EVERYONE likes you Riley! I don't know why, but they do. One guy. I'd like to be able to flirt or date one guy that had nothing to do with you and I thought Lucas was my chance, but you ruined that too. I don't care anymore. You can have Lucas, Farkle, Charlie and any other guys at our school! I'm done."
I ran after her. Maya's pretty smart because she got on the ski lift, but I'm not afraid anymore.
"Why can't you just leave me alone?!"
She yelled from the cart in front of me.
"I don't know how! Just talk to me!"
"I have nothing to say to you."
She hooked on her skis and jumped down from the cart, it wasn't until now I realized I didn't have any on.
Crap.
"Maya!!!"
I yelled, but she didn't answer me and I knew I had to jump off.
"You'll be okay, it's just a small drop."
I closed my eyes and let gravity take me. The wind whipped through my hair and cut through my clothes. It was an amazing feeling, I felt free.
Until I hit the ground. I looked up and everything seemed hazy.
"Hey look out!"
I turned around, but it was too late and everything went black.

Farkle
I rushed through the lodge, darting in and out of lines of people waiting for hot chocolate. It reminded me of the first night here when Riley and I were together. I finally reached the very back, Maya was standing outside a door marked "STAFF".
"Is she in there? Is she okay?"
Maya shrugged.
"I'm not sure."
"Where is everyone?"
Maya pointed to the couches.
"Charlie's over there. He's been a wreck ever since they brought her in. He's the one that crashed into Riley after she fell off the lift."
I clenched my fists, I wanted to kill that guy for causing Riley so much pain. Maya rested her hand on my shoulder.
"Don't. We have enough problems. Just go in and see her, I'll watch if anyone comes."
I smiled.
"Thanks you're a good friend Maya."
"If you tell anyone I'll kill you."
I slowly opened the door, Maya pushed me in a little. Riley laid on the couch, her eyes gently closed. She looked so precious.
I walked over and sat by her feet, tears started to form in my eyes.
"What-What's going on?"
I looked over at Riley. She sat up a little.
"Ugh my head hurts too."
I jumped off the couch and got her a wet cloth.
"Riley, I'm so glad you're okay."
She looked at me and smiled.
"Thanks. Can I ask you something?"
I nodded.
"Who are you?"

I think there will be one more chapter at the ski lodge and then we'll head back to New York. BUT WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED. OH MAN.

-Maya still doesn't know what Farkle,Riley and Lucas know.
-Oh and you know Riley just like died back there.. And clearly she's got some trouble going on^ . But yeah please comment! I wanna know you guys still like this book!
