On the last chapter that might've been a little confusing.
As the day went on Maya kept having mini flashbacks about when she asked a certain boy (cough cough Lucas) to homecoming a year or so ago.
Those flashbacks were represented in italicized print.
Okay I hope that makes it clear now.
