New Kid

I was upstairs in my room when the doorbell went off, I peeked through my curtains out the window onto the ground, then I heard the door open. Mom answered the door, I was still in my room trying to make out what she was saying to the people who had knocked on the door, mom yelled for me to come down so I did when I turned the corner I could see a boy and his parents standing in the doorway with large smiles on their faces, the boy stopped smiling at my mom and just stared at me with his mouth hanging half open.

I made my way to the door "these are the new neighbors" mom said faking a smile

"hi I'm Jack" the boy said looking right into my eyes

"hi jack, I'm Olivia but you can call me liv" I said .

Now I'm not gonna lie he was cute but I don't think he liked me, mom invited the family in for some coffee, while mom talked to Jack's parents we went across the street to get ice cream.

"So my parents really like you guys" he said with a half smile

"yeah well if it makes you feel better I like you too" his face lit up like a freaking Christmas tree

"REALLY?!" he seemed excited

"well yeah what's not to like" I said lightly punching his arm

"Olivia?" He hesitated

"yeah?" I was getting anxious

"will you go out with me?"

My heart felt like it exploded, I looked behind me checking for anyone else

"me?" I said stupidly

"well yeah who else would I be talking to" once again my heart exploded as I answered

"yes"
