Never let go

"Where is she...is she okay?!...where's my baby" I heard miscellaneous voices screaming from a distance, the ringing in my ears made it barely audible but I could still somehow comprehend it. When I finally realized what had happened, I started to have a severe panic attack causing me to black out. When I woke up again I was in the back of a speeding ambulance with paramedics surrounding me and to my side...Eva. She looked so peaceful as the young paramedic gave her CPR, trying to bring her back.

At the hospital

"Liv?" I was slightly shaken awake by Jack "baby, are you feeling okay?"

"What the hell happened?"

"You got into an accident with Eva"

"WHERE IS SHE?! IS SHE OKAY?!"

"She's..." He paused

"No." My heart sank to my toes.

"They're still working on her, Kate and Kris are waiting for her to get out of surgery and your parents are in the cafeteria getting lunch."

"Is Eva gonna be okay Jack?" Tears were pouring from my sore face onto my bruised legs.

"It doesn't look good babe" he grabbed my hand.

"Please tell me this is all just a bad dream Jack"

"I'm sorry baby"

"Wha-what happened?"

"You got into an accident Liv"

"No, what exactly happened?"

"The driver of the SUV crashed into the corner of your car, shattered the windshield and when it broke a piece of it flew back and cut Eva really deep."

"I'm so sorry." I mumbled between sobs.

"Liv, it's okay, it's not your fault."

Two hours later

"Well Eva is out of surgery" Kate walked in with tears and mascara rolling down her face.

"And?" Mom squeezed.

"They said her chances are fifty-fifty, she lost a lot" Kate wiped her nose.

"Kate, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen, I'm so sorry"

"Liv, you can't ignore fate. It's not your fault"

"Yes it is, if I would have just stayed at your place or-"

"LIV, SHUT UP! It's not your fault, you couldn't control it"

"Kate baby, maybe you should get some rest" Kris put her hand on Kate's shoulder

"I can't" Kate got up from the chair and walked out of the room leaving us in silence.

"Im sorry Kate" I whimpered "I'm so sorry"

The next morning

"Liv." Mom gently shook me awake awake causing my sore muscles to ache. "Baby, You need to take your medicine" she was rubbing my forehead and squeezing my hand. I sat up and looked around the room, it was empty "where is everybody?"

"They went to Eva's room to keep an eye on her"

"I she gonna be okay?"

"There's no definite answer"

"Well, can I see her?"

"I don't see why not" she helped me up and showed me the way to her room, when I opened the door all I could see was Kate bawling with her mother standing over her and Kris by her side, my ears felt like they were ringing again but I knew they weren't, I couldn't figure out what was happening until I looked at the monitor beside Eva...
