"thanks for letting me stay here." Sam tells me.

"this house is pretty big for two people. I like company." I tell him and sit the lava cakes down.

"and you don't play basketball?" Johnson asks me.

"nah. I cheer." I tell him.

"you should play basketball, unless you're somehow better at cheering." he replies, chuckling a little.

"I am actually." I tell him, trying to hold back my smile.

"you're crazy." he says shaking his head.

"I'm going to go put a shirt on, I'll be right back." I say and as I go upstairs I can hear them all sit down at the table.

*later that night.*

"babe. come here." I hear Jack say in the dark.

"I have no idea where you are." I giggle, trying to find him blindly.

"just follow my voice." he says.

"why couldn't you have done this when we were literally in bed together?" I laugh.

"because I had to do something. just come here. it's a surprise." Jack replies and I bump into him.

"I made it." I say, giggling a little.

"I see that." he says and picks me up.

"where are we going?" I ask as we make our way down the stairs.

"you'll find out. just be quiet so you don't wake anyone up." he says and I keep my mouth shut.

he opens up the door and I see his jeep in the driveway.

"what are we doing?" I ask half-asleep and confused.

"you'll see." he says and I can hear the smile on his voice.

I give up on trying to find out and turn the music up as loud as I can so I actually wake up.

"tired?" he asks.

"of course. I was sleeping." I laugh.

"here." he says and hands me a pumpkin spice frappuccino. "they were all out of s'mores." he explains.

"good thing these are my second favourite." I laugh.

"I remember you talking about how much you love anything pumpkin, so I had a feeling." he says, putting his hand on my thigh.

I tense up at his touch and he just smiles at me.

I let a little bit of time pass by before I ask him again. "but seriously, where are we going?"

"we're going to-" he pauses.

"to where?" I ask.

"to here." he says, pulling up to the river.

"why here?" I ask.

"what better place to watch the sunrise?" he replies.

I don't say anything. I just smile.

he sets down a blanket for us to lay on and I melt into his arms.

I end up falling asleep and Jack wakes me up just in time to watch it.

it's absolutely gorgeous.

"I love you so much." I tell Jack, just looking up and him, his eyes widened taking it all in and I can't help but smile and get butterflies.

"I love you too." he says, not taking his eyes away from the sunrise for even a second.

I just nestle my head into him and watch the sunrise.

"ready to go?" he asks about 15 minutes after the sun has rose.

"yeah. can we sleep when we get home?" I ask him.

"umm.. about that. we sort of have school today." Jack says.

"what time is it?" I ask him.

"6:30." he says quietly.

"okay. I'm sleeping in the car then. let's go." I say, getting up as quickly as I can.

"hurry up slow poke!" I yell at Jack behind me, seeing he hasn't moved yet.
