I tried to push the last beam, but it was on top of her leg, and it was a big one. I couldn't move it by myself.

I tried to push it again, she screamed. "I'm sorry Sky!"

She looked at me and I could tell she was in pain, her expression was angry but determined, "No, we have to get it off." She started coughing. She tried pushing it off, she yelped, it must have been really painful.

I planted my feet and yelled, "Now!" we lifted it together long enough for her to pull herself out.

I took her hand and helped her up, "Can you walk?" I yelled. I could barely hear, all of the noise from the fire and falling pieces of the building was so loud.

She said, "I think so!" I let go, and she fell to the floor.

Skylar tried to push herself up, but fell down and clutched her wrist. She had a deep burn all the way up her wrist. I picked her up bridal style and tried to run towards the exit.

I heard the firemen coming in from the other exit, they were going to get trapped. I ran back and waved them to go back, they saw that I had a way out and I had Sky so they exited.

I ran out of the building. I got about ten feet from the building and walked over to the fence that was around the lot. I sat down with Sky in my lap. I took some deep breaths, she tried, but she seemed to be choking. I helped her sit up and I patted her back until she could breathe normally again.

She hugged me, "Thank you for coming back."

I moved her hair from her face and kissed her forehead, "I'd never leave my best friend behind."
