Don't Look Back

And Out Spills the Truth

Rocky's POV

We all walked into the boys cabin and sat down in a circle. Riker said, "Ross what did you say to Sky?" Ross said, "I didn't mean what I said."  I said, "He said that no one would adopt her from the orphanage because no one wanted her. He said I didn't love her, that she wasn't anyone's first choice." Everyone gave Ross a look. He said, "But I didn't mean it." I noticed her empty drawer, "What happened to her stuff?"' he came over and saw it was empty. We looked in the closet and saw that her duffel bag was gone too. "Is she leaving?" Ratliff asked. I ran out of the cabin back into the main cabin, she wasn't there, I said, "Where's Sky?" Rydel said, "She said she was going back to her cabin." I said, "We are in her cabin, she's not here." I ran back to the main cabin,  I saw Sky standing there, I hugged her, but she didn't hug back. "I'm happy to see you, wait, what's wrong?" She said, "You guys are a family, you shouldn't let something as stupid as me come in between you. Ross I'm sorry about what Rocky did, I knew you were just mad about something. Riker I'm sorry that you keep having to take charge of all of these stupid problems. And Rocky, I'm sorry, but I don't want any of this anymore, Ross pointed out to me the truth. And everybody I'm sorry I ruined your trip." I said, "So you're already breaking up with me?" She said, "Rocky I know you never liked me, you just wanted a girlfriend in general, and Erin's a sweet girl, she's better for you anyways. I don't want a relationship with anyone if it causes this kind of drama." I said, "If that's what you want then fine, just know, I really do like you. I have since we were little." Ross said, "Sky, you know I didn't mean any of that stuff I said to you, but I did say it so I understand that you are mad at me. But please stay at camp. You are my best friend and what made me mad is that you liked my brother, and, and not me.". Sky looked shocked, he did too, she said "What?"  Ross said, "Can we go talk at the rock?" She nodded and they left.

Ross's POV

We laid down on our rock, and I said, "Do you remember that day when I told you that you were my best friend?" She said, "Yeah, that was here, I told you that you were mine too."  I said, "That was the day that  I told you that when we were old enough you'd be my first girlfriend. And you laughed in my face. Which is why I never asked you out. But I wanted to every day. But I didn't want that friend zone speech. Now, I realize that we will never be together, because you are more than a best friend to me, you are like a sister. And that's a million times better than a girlfriend." I saw a tear fall from her eye. I said, "When I saw you holding hands with Rocky, I wasn't  jealous, I was mad, because I didn't want him to take you away from me." She giggled, "That's jealousy." I said, "No, I would have been jealous if I wanted his hand to be my hand, it was mad because to didn't want anyone holding your hand at all. I said you'd never be anyone's first choice because I don't want you to be, but Sky, you are my first choice, always." I saw more tears. She wiped them away, "Ross, I had the biggest crush on you when we were little, and even when we were older, but then you started dating Alana, and I gave up with it, I knew I could never compete with her. So I thought of you like a brother after that. But then when you came back for me when the fire happened, you were my hero, I knew you would look out for me always." I said," You saved me first remember? And she said, "No, I think I saved Riker first. Actually, now that I think about it, I saved you last." We both laughed, and we both sat up, she said, "So, are we good now?" I said, "Yeah, we are." And she hugged me, and I squeezed her tight.

Sky's POV

The rest of the week was alright, we were all cool now, no more drama and my lip had healed. Erin was flying up today and would be here any minute. She was really nice, I used to work at a store with her. Now I'm just a waitress. Well, me and Erin were friends, so Rocky and I agreed that we would act like nothing ever happened between us. I went to the main cabin and started cooking, I made steak and chicken for dinner. Salad and mixed fruit were made to and I set the table, I put some flowers in vases that I had gone out and picked. I heard a car pull up outside. She was here, I took off my apron and ran out I greet her. Everyone else was standing with her, when she saw me she pushed through them and gave me a big hug. "Sky! It's so great to see you again!" I happily said, "You too, I haven't seen you in forever!" After our greetings I said, "I just finished making dinner, how about we go on inside, Erin, we can get you set up afterwards, just stick your stuff by the door of the main cabin." She nodded, "Sounds good."'we all sat down, and everyone served themselves, Erin kind of just sat there staring at the pile of steaks. "Gah! I'm so sorry Erin I totally forgot!" I got up and took the steak and chicken and switched it with the mixed fruit and the salad. "It's okay." She said. Rocky said, "What was that?" I said, "Erin's a vegetarian." He said, "Oh. I didn't know that." Then everyone went back to eating. I said, "I thought we could set up all the sleeping bags we have in the closet here up on the stage. And we could all camp out here." The property was an old summer camp, so we had a whole mess hall with a stage and stuff. Riker said, "Yeah, that's a great idea." I finished with my meal then said, "So, Erin, where would you like to sleep for the rest of the time, so we can get your stuff put away?" Ross said, "Yeah, we have an extra cabin, and the couch in the girls cabin." I said, "Or the empty bunk in the boys cabin." Rocky said, "Wait, I thought you were sleeping there." I gave him a look, "I don't think if that's such a good idea with what just happened." He said, "Come on, we're past that now. It's over Ross's bunk not mine." I said, "Fine." And I stood up and went to the empty cabin. I packed up my stuff and went back to the boys cabin, and I dumped my stuff back in the drawer, then threw my duffel bag in the closet. Then I heard some voices outside. I stayed in the closet. They came inside, it was Riker, Ross, and Rocky. "Why'd you have to say that, we put it behind us." Riker said. Rocky said, "Hey, it's not a big deal." Ross said, "I feel like we ruined this trip for Sky. I mean, is it a bad thing that I want to spend more time with her than Alana?" Riker said, "I know, I haven't spent any time alone with Carissa. But I feel weird with Sky, I feel like she's working instead of having fun. But I know that she does that when she's upset." Rocky said, "What do you mean?" Riker said, "Haven't  you noticed? Look at this place, this morning when we left, we didn't make our beds. Now they're nicely tucked and the pillows are even fluffed. She cooks every meal for us and its always amazing. And have you seen any dirty laundry? No." Ross said, "I think she's mad at me and Rocky." I couldn't just sit here anymore, I stepped out of the closet. "I'm not mad at anyone, I just naturally clean because you boys are so messy, and I cook because I like to and I don't want you guys burning the place down. I am having fun, trust me, I'm fine." Not a single word that just came out of my mouth was true.
