Ross's POV

Sky turned on her flashlight and stuck it in a tree, if I got too close she'd see my shadow. I stood behind the tree and watched her. She walked over to what looked like a big nest on the ground. She moved away some dry grass on the top. There was a baby fox! She picked it up and cradled it in her arms, she fed it the chicken and spoke to it like she was talking to a baby. "How's your foot doing? Heh, if you could talk I'd bet you'd be saying thanks for bringing all this good food for you." She tickled its belly,"When your foot heals you'll have to find your own food. I hope you get better before I have to leave." I took a step to the side so I could see better but I snapped a twig and Sky shot up, holding the baby fox close to her. The fox buried its face in her chest. "Hello?" She said. "Rocky?" She said. Rocky? Why would she guess him? She walked past me behind the tree. She grabbed her flashlight and turned it off, then pulled a blanket out of her bag. She wrapped up the baby fox and placed her in her backpack. " Ok Butter, I won't leave you out her at night anymore, don't want anything to get you while you're so helpless. Well, I don't want anything to get you at all. Here, you can come back with me to camp, and I'll bring you back early in the morning." I took another route back to camp and ran so I would beat her. I climbed back under my blankets and waited. Sky came back in her pjs, my clothes. She laid down next to me.

Sky's POV

The next morning I went to the fridge to get some more food for Butter. I found a baby fox once when I went on a walk the other day, his leg was caught in a trap and he couldn't move. I named him Butter because at first when I found him and tried to get him free from the trap he tried to get away making his wound worse, but he was hard to hold still at first so I called him Butter. Every day I would bring him some sort of raw meat from dinner, but I had to go late at night. Soon he was like a puppy to me, he welcomed me with happy licks to my face and he puts his paws on my hands. But I had to hide him here last night because I think something had come to eat him last night. I put him in my bunk in the boys cabin last night because I wasn't sleeping there. He didn't make any noise and he was small so he didn't take up much space. I tucked him in and fed him, I said, "I'll be back every once in a while I promise Butter." I heard a voice from behind me, "Butter? That's an unusual name for a fox." It was Ross. I threw the blanket over Butter's face. "What? I don't know what you're talking about." He said, "I know about the fox, I think it's awesome that you're taking care of him." I said, "Oh, thanks. Do you wanna help me?" He said, "Sure." I said, "How about a little camping trip?" He said, "Sky, we are camping." I said, "I wanna watch his best tonight, make sure he'll be okay." He nodded, "Sounds good. We should probably tell everyone else, so they don't wonder what happened to us." I nodded and wrapped Butter up in a towel, then we walked over to the main cabin together. When we walked in everybody looked at us and awed. "He's so cute!" Dylan said louder than anyone else, we all stared at him, he looked around, was about to say something to save him, make him sound cool, then said, "I mean, come on, just look at that face!" We all laughed, all the girls ran over to pet Butter. I pulled him away though, "I'm sorry, but he's injured, and I think he's probably overwhelmed by all the people already." I said. Then Ross said, "Sky and I are going to camp out by his nest to make sure he's okay." Rocky said, "Can I come?" Ross immediately said, "No!" Rocky put his hands up in defense, "Ok ok." I looked at Alana, she didn't like how quickly he had responded. "We are going tonight so we won't leave until much later. So what do you guys want to do now?" I asked. We all agreed on tubing in the lake. So we all changed into our swimsuits then we spent the rest of the day out on the lake in the boat. When it started to get dark I nudged Ross, "Im gonna head in and grab some things, take a shower, and then we gotta go." He nodded and I jumped in the water and swam back, I took a quick shower and changed into some clothes.
