Dylan’s POV

Sky walked through the front door and let out a big sigh. I was sitting on the couch; I was waiting for her to get home. “So, by your sigh, I’m guessing you didn’t have a fun night?” She laughed, “Not exactly. I saw three little candles and I threw a cup of water on the whole cake. Then I clung to Riker and we awkwardly left.” I said, “Well, you did almost die from fire, so that’s believable.” She said, “I’m gonna go hop in the shower and go to bed. G’night.” I said goodnight and she disappeared down the hallway. Sky and I have been roommates since we were little. We used to live in the same orphanage and we roomed together, then we ran away together and got an apartment. She’s my best friend, but Ross is hers. She’s like a sister to me, and I’m pretty protective because she’s been through a lot. I know she’s safe when she’s with the Lynch’s though. I know that sounds weird that my best friends is a girl, but she’s really cool. She’s very tough and she acts like a guy sometimes so she fits in with my friend and I really well, but she’s still girly. She’s attractive I have to admit, so all of my friends are always asking me to invite her when we go hang out. But when we do sports she always tries to beat us to show her that girls can be just as good at sports, maybe even better, than guys. She’s the coolest girl I’ve ever met. I was just thinking on the couch while I was on my laptop. It was three in the morning, I decided to head to bed. An hour later I heard screaming from Sky’s room. I jumped up and grabbed my baseball bat and ran into her room. She was sitting up in her bed. She was crying. I dropped my bat and ran over to her. I sat next to her in the bed and held her while she cried, “The, the, fire. It, it.” I shushed her until she fell back asleep. Then I went back to bed.
