Sky’s POV

I went home and walked into Dylan’s room. He was at his desk, scribbling something on paper. I put my hands on his shoulders and stood behind him, looking over his shoulder. He sort of jumped when he felt my touch. He covered his paper with a blank page. I said, “Hey what is that?” He spun around in his chair. “Nothing.” I said, “Come on Dyl, let me see.” I tried to get past him. He blocked me, “Please, don’t.” I said, “Fine.” I started to turn around to walk out, then I pounced around him and snatched his paper. I said, “Planning are we?” He said, “You know what we have to do.” I said, “I wish you didn’t do this.” He said, “I have to keep you safe.” I said, “Ugh, fine. I’m going to bed.” He said, “I only do this because I care.” I said, “I know.” And I went to bed.

When I woke up the next morning I saw Dylan at my door. I grabbed my chest and let out a painful cough. “Ugh, what’s going on? Why are you up so early?” It was seven in the morning. I only woke up because my chest hurt. A tear fell from his eye. I got up and went over to him, “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” I wrapped my arms around him. He hugged me back, he held me tight. He said, “It’s nothing.” I said, “I know you too well, what’s really going on?” He said, “You should go to the Lynch’s , or just out, anywhere.” He handed me my bag and my shoes then walked me out the door. I heard him lock it as he closed it. Why did he just lock me out? And, um, I’m in my jammies. Well, it’s just a t-shirt and shorts, but still. My hair wasn’t brushed though. I walked to the Lynch’s house, and I was about to walk up the steps to the front door when I noticed Alana through the window. She was inside on the couch talking to Ross. They were smiling and laughing. I was about to cry. I went to the park instead and hung out there most of the day. I got a text later from Ross asking me to go to dinner with him. I agreed for some reason.

Ross’s POV

I picked up Sky for dinner, nothing super fancy, but still nice. When we got there and sat at the table she said, “What did you want to talk about?” I said, “Alana.” The smile disappeared from her face, “Oh.” Then she perked up, I could tell it was fake though, she said, “Go ahead.” I said, “She wants to get back together.” She said, “I see.” I said, “yeah, she’s better now, so, I just wanted to get your ‘ok’ before I agree to anything.” She glumly said, “Ross, it’s a relationship, not a contract.” I said, “So, do I have your approval?” She sarcastically said, “As long as I can have yours.”  I said, “What do you mean?” She said, “I don’t think you need my approval, because obviously I wouldn’t be okay with it, but why should that stop you? You love who you love. It’s as simple as that. You see who you want and I’ll see who I want. It shouldn’t affect our friendship.” I said, “Why wouldn’t you approve of her?” She said, “Seriously? The girl nearly killed me. She made me fall off a cliff then she tried to drag me into a lake. You really expect me to be okay with that?” I said, “She’s better now.” You can’t erase the past, it will always be there. And you most definitely cannot force me to be her friend.” In a calm tone I said, “Wait, who are you seeing?” She said, “What?” I said, “You said, I could see who ever I wanted to and you could see who you wanted to. Is it Riker?” She said, “What does that even have to do with anything?” I said, “Well, because I don’t want you going out with my brother?” She said, “Whoa wait, so I can’t date your brother, but you can date a mental  girl who tried to kill me?” I said, “She won’t do anything again!” She said, “But she did, and that’s the point! It happened!” By then I realized the entire restaurant was staring at us. I said, “I’m just looking out for you.” She said, “By dating the wicked bitch of the west?” She got up and dropped some money on the table. Then she stormed out. I dropped some money on the table too and ran after her. Halfway down the street I caught her, I said, “What has gotten into you?” She stopped and turned around, “Anger! Confusion! Betrayal! Everything Ross! I don’t want to do this anymore! I’m done! Marry her for all I care!” She turned around and started walking again. Then she stopped again. She came back and hugged me, “Goodbye Ross.” I said, “Goodbye?” She said, “I don’t want to leave on a bad note.” Then she left. What did she mean by leave? As in, the night? Or entirely?
