Ross' POV

The next day, I texted Sky to meet for lunch. I stood outside of our favorite restaurant, a little burger joint called GO Burger. I looked down at my watch, she was late, but I should have offered her a ride, because I know the only way she can get her is on foot. With crutches, that must be hard. I started walking to my car to go find her.

"Ross!"

I turned around, Sky was coming my way. She was moving along on her crutches, I walked towards her, and gave her a big hug.

She smiled, "I'm so happy to see you." We went inside and sat at our usual booth, she leaned her crutches against the side of the table.

I said, "I started crying when I saw all those beams on top of you, you were completely buried, all I could see was your arm. You almost died."

She put her hand on top of mine, "But I didn't, so it's okay."

I smiled, "I know."

I looked down at her wrist, the bandage was all bloody. She noticed that I was starting at it, so she pulled it back.

"I'll be right back, can you order for me? I always get the same thing."

I nodded, "Sure thing."

She took her bag and went in the bathroom.

I ordered for us and she came back. Fresh bandage and gauze.

"Does it hurt?" I asked, which was a stupid question, of course it hurts.

She joked, "Oh, it's worse than it looks. How's Riker doing?"

I said, "He's fine, he's been getting some bad headaches though. Will you have dinner with my family, we want to thank you for saving Riker's life."

She said, "You saved mine, aren't we even? I'm just kidding, I would love to." Our food came and we started eating our burgers, "How's Alana? Does she still hate me?"

I said, "She doesn't hate you, she just strongly dislikes that you're my best friend. She feels threatened, but can you blame her? We spend like every day together, and when we don't, we're always texting each other."

She started laughing, "Yeah, but doesn't she know that you're like my brother, she's got nothing to worry about. Trust me, nothing."

That kind of hurt.

Wait, why did that hurt?

I let out a confused laugh, "Yeah, nothing."

I finished my burger, and paid for both of us, but last second I saw her put a tip on the table. She never let me fully pay when we got food.

I drove Sky back to her place, and said, "Dress nice for dinner, I'll pick you up at seven. My mom wants to have a nice dinner, so I have to wear a collared shirt and nice pants. Ugh." I said, the last part sarcastically. I loved dressing up nice, it made me feel important. I know that's silly. She thanked me for the ride and waved me goodbye as I drove off.
