Raven's POV
Skye rushed around the rooms, gathering her daily supplies as quick as possible.
She had slept in today, which means we were almost late. I picked up my bag slowly and looked around.
I should be good.
"Raven! What are you doing?" She asked as she ran the brush through her hair and put her books in her bag at the same time.
"What do you mean?" I asked looking around me to see what she was talking about.
"Go get the dress on! We've been over this before!" She said and I looked down. I suppose it would've been best for me to have remembered to get dressed out of my pajamas.
"Right." I muttered as I put my bag down and ran to get dressed as quick as possible.
If I was being a hundred percent truthful, I didn't feel good. That doesn't mean I feel bad though, which means I don't have to tell Skye. Skye doesn't need to worry about useless things like whether I have a cold or not.
I rubbed my eyes and took a breath before splashing water on my face. I needed to wake up.
I had the stupid dress on now, so that's good.
I sighed and found my way to the door where Skye was waiting.
"Ready to go?" She asked, already going outside. I zipped my jacket up and nodded.
"Lead the way." I said. The air outside was cold. Freezing cold. I don't know how they expect us to go to school like this.
We made our way to the school, occasional conversations, nothing important though.
"Hey Raven, did you get the homework finished?" Skye asked me as we entered the gate.
"Mostly." I mumbled, trailing off. I had fallen asleep while I was doing it, so it's not like I didn't try.
"Let me see it." She said in a tone that was more pleased than mad. I guess she knows I tried too.
And that's when I realized I had forgotten my bag.
"What's wrong?" Skye asked, seeing the frustration of forgetting something on my face.
"Don't worry about it." I muttered, trying to think of ways to avoid being called on by the teacher, excuses to use to get out of turning in homework, etc.
"Did you forget your homework?" She asked. From her view she wouldn't be able to tell I had forgotten my bag.
"Kind of." I said so that I wouldn't be lying technically.
"Well, maybe we could just ask sensei if you could bring it in tomorrow." She mumbled, trying to think on the bright side.
"Hopefully." I muttered bringing a hand to my head. I had medicine in my bag as well. I can live without it though, I guess.
The twins weren't in class today. They decided that they would stay home again after all. It was peaceful without them, believe me, but it also felt like something was missing. Besides my bag, of course.
Skye explained to the sensei quickly why we were on the verge of being late and why I hadn't brought in my homework. That's one less thing I had to worry about.
"Okay class, Today we will be working on..." I began to zone out as I often do during these lectures. For a elite school, the teachers sure could be boring.
I rested my head on my palm and closed my eyes. I was drifting in between sleep and being awake. Luckily with how short I am and my position in the class, sensei never notices if I go to sleep. I guess being short has some advantages as well. Huh, who would have ever guessed?
