{48} Better and Worse

Kaoru's POV

"Hikaru, do you feel well enough to go to school?" I asked as he rubbed his eyes. We just woke up in time for school. I was feeling better now. Well enough to go to school at least.

"Do you?" He asked in a slightly hoarse voice from just waking up. 

"I think so." I replied, standing up out of bed. The medicine Skye gave us must have helped. She called a few times to make sure we were okay, slightly less worried each time.

"Alright then. Is Kyoya mad yet?" He chuckled, throwing the covers to the end of the bed and stretching. 

"Probably. Hurry up so we're not late." I said as I began to walk away to get ready myself. 

I got dressed quickly, throwing on the uniform before going to the bathroom to brush my hair, teeth, etc. When I reached Hikaru again, he was ready as well.  He didn't look great. Bags under his eyes and his face was still pale.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I asked, slowing down for a moment to make sure he could go to school.

"I'll be fine. If you're going to school, so am I." He announced, standing up and wobbling slightly before regaining his composure.

"Hikaru, you don't need to push yourself. Do you want me to call Skye and ask her what she thinks?" I asked. Of course a real doctor might have been more accurate, but Skye was...Closer I guess, then any of our personal doctors. They couldn't tell us apart, nor did many of them care. They got paid a lot is all.

"No, I said I was fine." He replied stubbornly. 

"Alright." I responded. We we're out the door and into the limo within ten minutes. 

The girls were all super nice when we got back.  

"Oh Kaoru! Are you feeling better now?" A girl asked for the twentieth time in ten minutes. It was hard to get to class because of how many times we were stopped. 

"I'm all better now." I smiled and they let out a breath of relief.

"Will you be in the host club today?" She asked.

"Yeah!" I grinned back as she squealed. 

"Finally!" She said before moving and letting us into the classroom. Raven and Skye sat in the classroom, Skye reading something and Raven trying to balance pencils on top of each other. 

The pencils fell over and Raven cursed under her breath before beginning to set them back up. I smiled at her childish attitude. 

Me and Hikaru made our way to our seats where Skye finally looked up, her face brightening.

"Hikaru, Kaoru! Are you two feeling better?" She asked after placing a bookmark in her book and setting it into her bag. 

"A lot better." I replied, as it seemed Hikaru didn't feel like talking. I know he doesn't feel well, but as stubborn as he is, I shouldn't say anything.

"Good." She smiled. 

"Better, not better, It doesn't matter. I'm trying to concentrate here!" Raven shouted, causing her pencil tower to fall over.

She glared at me and Hikaru before picking up the pieces.

"Sit down class!" The sensei shouted over all of us. I sat in my seat beside Hikaru, preparing for the long class. 

-After Host Club Hours-

"Raven, stop eating the cake."
