Raven's POV
Nervous as ever, I walked through the doors of the school alongside Skye. I knew I was probably just being paranoid, but if you were me, you'd understand why.
All night, all I could think of is how this note could be true and from him.
I just couldn't understand how he would know what we were doing or where we were if he was locked up like the criminal he is. So I thought of a way:
Father probably has a spy or something in the school.
It sounds really stupid and fake, but I couldn't think of any other explanations! He might have talked to the students in our school from jail.
But can he even do that? And who would go through that much trouble to ruin someones life? I wouldn't even expect that from him.
Skye was acting fine, but I couldn't believe she was okay.
I mean, usually she is pretty honest with me, but I couldn't see her not being paranoid.
As we walked through the halls, girls gave us dirty looks, still upset about the entire Hikaru and Kaoru thing, I think.
I rolled my eyes and Skye played with her hair nervously as we continued down the hall of girls glaring daggers.
"Hey Skye! Raven!" two voice shouted and I immediately recognized them as Hikaru and Kaoru.
I stopped in my tacks and closed my eyes, taking a breath of air before turning to face the gingers.
"What?" I snapped, eager to get this over with. I had too much to think about as it was, and I didn't need to add them into the mix.
"Hey! Don't look so sullen-or angry," Kaoru said, but my facial expression didn't change.
"Yeah!" his brother agreed. "We only wanted to know if you two were okay."
Skye pulled her lips into a genuine smile and nodded.
"We're just fine," I agreed and turned away before they could press any further.
I can't believe this.
Skye's fine. I'm scared.
I don't know why I'm so scared. I guess it's just the note and that creepy dream all at once is kind of hectic for me.
I rubbed my temples as Skye caught up to me.
"Let's get to class," she grinned, but I groaned.
*
Class went smoothly- the usual teacher talking about something and most of the class not paying a bit of attention.
A majority of the class had left the room now, but the twins were waiting for me and Skye in the doorway.
She sat in her seat, neatly folding her papers and placing them in her bag before finally standing up. She looked hurt in a way.
"You good?" I asked after slinging my bag over my shoulder and walking over to her.
She looked down for a moment before looking back up with a smile.
"Yeah. I just keep forgetting to make sure these people don't get to me." Her smile faded and she stood still.
"Did something else happen?" I asked, slightly confused. Sure we still got the notes, but they had definitely died down the past couple of days.
"Just forget I ever said anything. It was the same old insults , but I guess it just kind of sunk in," she explained before standing up and walking to the door.
