Raven's POV

I woke up in the air, and somebody was carrying me. Instead of moving to figure out who it was, I simply rested my head against their chest. It was very comfortable, protective even. I still felt upset about the entire mother thing. She's gone, and I just need to accept that, especially since it's been a couple years already.

It's just not that easy though.

I fell back asleep soon after feeling the velvet feeling of my mattress against my back and the soft blanket being pulled up to my chin.

I slept through the night and awoke early the next morning; before Skye even. I felt a lot better in the morning. Out of my sad slump at least.

I decided to try and make breakfast for Skye. She always did it, so I could try to make something like eggs. Shouldn't be too hard.

I mixed the eggs and turned the stove on, pouring the batter in quickly and then jumping on the couch to watch a little early morning television.

The first thing that popped up was the news channel, but that wasn't too interesting, so I changed it to the morning cartoons.

I watched those for about five minutes before I smelt a burning smell. Skye's cooking never smelled like this.

I turned around to see the pot of eggs smoking; not a good sign. At the same time, Skyes door flew open and she looked around for the odd smell as well.

"Raven! What happened?" She asked quickly before heading into the kitchen, waving her hand to keep the smoke out of her vision.

"I was just making eggs!" I called back, clicking the television off before following her into the now half-smoky kitchen.

Skye picked up the pan and transferred it into the sink with a small murmur as the heat touched the water. Soon after, I could see the burned eggs in the pan. Skye opened the only window in the apartment to get some of the smoke out and let out a soft sigh.

"Sorry." I muttered looking down. Surprisingly enough, Skye just giggled.

"Oh my God! I thought you burned the entire complex down!" She giggled before sitting down in relief.

"I shouldn't cook." I mumbled to myself as I shook my head.

"You really shouldn't. Thanks for trying though. "She paused and stopped giggling. "Are you feeling better?" She asked slowly.

"Yeah. It was just one of those days." I shrugged. It was the truth.

"Good. Let's hurry up and get ready. Maybe I can make breakfast than."

~Later~

I heard the ringing of the bell, telling me class was over and said a silent prayer to myself. Today's class was extra long and the twins sending me glances didn't help.

"What is it?" I asked as soon as everyone was leaving. They wouldn't stop staring at me.

"Can I show you something after school?" Kaoru asked. I looked over at Skye who was packing her bag before turning back to Kaoru.

"Is Skye coming?" I asked carefully.

"If she want's to. Hikaru can't come because he has to stay after school for some project or something." Kaoru said carefully before looking at his own twin. I assumed he had the same internal conflict as I, afraid to eventually have to leave his other half.

"Fine." I said before turning to ask Skye.

"Skye, do you want to come somewhere with me and Kaoru?" I asked and she looked up before frowning.
