Chapter 48 (Heaven)

Michael’s POV

I woke up as I felt something leaning against my body heavily. I slowly opened my eyes slightly confused until I see Sarah laying on top of me, literally, her whole body was on top of mine, her face pressed onto the crook of my neck.

I lifted my head and glanced at her beautiful face. I swear to God, it was like waking up in heaven. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her gently on the forehead. Her beautiful smell all over me and I just love the heat of her body radiating onto mine.

Maingat at dahan-dahan kong inabot ang cell phone na nakapatong sa may headboard ng kama, ayaw kong maistorbo ang tulog ni Sarah. Sinipat ko ang oras.

6:18 AM.

Napasulyap muli ako kay Sarah at napangiti. Kuntento lang akong pinagmasdan muli ang mala-anghel niyang mukha.

I lay with her for another five minutes before easing my arm trying to take her body off mine; she rolled over to the other side making me smile.

I had to admit, last night’s conversation with Sarah scared the crap out of me. Akala ko talaga tuluyan na siyang mawawala sa akin. Isipin ko pa lang iyon, pakiramdam ko unti-unti na akong mamamatay. Ayaw ko na ulit maranasan ang ganoong pakiramdam kahit kailan. Hindi ko na kakayanin.

I sighed and kissed the back of Sarah’s head smoothing her hair gently.

“Thank you for giving me another chance Sarah. Mahal na Mahal kita” I whispered, not wanting to wake her up.

  

Nagpalipas pa ako ng ilang minute bago maingat at marahang bumaba ng kama. Walang kaingay-ingay akong lumabas ng kuwarto at dumiretso sa kusina. Kailangan kong magluto ng makakain naming para kapag nagising na siya, may pagsasaluhan kaming dalawa. Sigurado ako, gutom siya pagka-gising niya.

Bigla kong naramdaman ang pagkalam ng sikmura ko. Oo nga pala, mula kahapon pa hindi nasasayaran ng pagkain ang sikmura ko.   

Mabilis kong binuksan ang ref niya at naghanap ng maaaring iluto. Swerte namang punong-puno ng pagkain ang ref. Mukhang kakabisita lang sa grocery ni Sarah.  

Napangiti ako.

I ended up cooking some hotdogs and sunny side up eggs. Tamang-tama na siguro ang mga ito para sa aming dalawa.  

After less than 20 minutes, I’m done cooking. I set the table up and decided to check on Sarah afterwards.

As I entered the room, I couldn’t help but smile as my eyes settled to her adorable face. She’s still sound asleep. She looked so peaceful. She really had a very stressful day yesterday. I leant against the door and watch her in her sleep for a while.
