I wake up to a knock on my door. Not being a morning person, I ignore it. I'm already in sort of a sour mood because we have to leave in two days and I really don't want to. I mean, don't get me wrong, I miss my parents and my friends, I just don't want this to end. I hear another knock. I drag my feet out of bed to get to the door.
"Hey" I immediately lighten up and wrap my arms around Liam.
"What are you doing here this early?" I ask. He unwraps himself from me and puts his hands on my shoulders.
"So we have a concert tonight, and since we only have a couple of days left, I was thinking maybe you could come with me?" He says smiling really big as if I need convincing to agree.
"Of course! That would be great."
"We'll leave around 2:00. Oh! I almost forgot! Everyone else can come as well." He adds. I nod and clap my hands in approval. He turns around to leave. I grab his wrist to stop him.
"Maybe we could get some breakfast?"
"Sounds lovely!" He responds. We both run downstairs to see what's in the kitchen. I go straight for the bacon and set it on the counter.
"What should we have with our bacon?" I ask.
"Do you have the stuff to make pancakes?" He asks. I give him an evil grin and run into the pantry. I come out with a huge bag of pancake mix. His eyes widen at the size of the massive bag.
"Woah." He says just before looking for the biggest mixing bowl he can find. He hands me a pan as he comes across it so I can cook the bacon. By the time I'm done cooking it, Liam's finished stirring the pancake mix. I put the bacon in the warming drawer to keep it warm. I grab a plate to put the finished pancakes on before I start making them. Then I start pouring the batter onto the griddle. Liam hands me a spatula and I watch the pancakes for them to be ready to flip. He wraps his arms around my front and lifts my chin up to kiss me. I turn towards him and put my arms around his neck. We break apart at a strange smell. "What..?"
"We burned the first pancake." I say and almost fall over laughing. Liam does the same as he scrapes the burnt pancake into the trash. I pour another on the griddle carefully watching so as not to burn this one. Liam takes the bowl from me and pours another one onto the griddle. He finds another spatula for when it's ready to flip. After cooking about half the batter, the pile is about to topple over.
"We need another plate." Liam says as he finds another one.
"I have an idea" I say looking straight at him.
"And what might that be?" He asks, curious.
"Chocolate chips."
"Milk chocolate?"
"Yes."
"Perfect." He finally says and I find them in the pantry then add them to the rest of the batter. After we finish cooking the remainder of the pancakes, I grab the bacon out of the warming drawer and two plates out of the cabinet. I hand one to Liam and we serve up our food. We sit next to each other on the couch to eat. Blake's the first one to come down the stairs and he immediately eyes the food.
"Did Evan make these?" He asks, motioning towards the pancakes.
"No, we did." Liam answers for me, knowing that I don't want to talk to him. Although it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to not want him to talk to me as well. I'm slightly impressed that he's been behaving lately though. I really didn't expect it to ever happen.
"It smells great." He compliments.
"Thanks." Liam replies. Blake takes three of each then goes into the dining room to avoid the tension. I shoot a quick text to everyone about the concert so they'll see it when they get up. As it's sending, the front door unlatches and Evan walks in.
