"Luna... this is not good, since we are shape shifters, your shoulder should have healed by to at least a cut. Instead there is still a gash here." My father said in a very concerned tone. "What!? Is that why my shoulder still hurts?" I responded kind of frightened that I would have to go to the hospital again. "Yes, I do believe that, that would be the reason why it still hurts. Although I don't understand why your shoulder hasn't healed yet. Maybe we should take you to the doctor just to see what's wrong. " My dad said kind of thoughtfully.
"Dad, I thought we couldn't go to the doctor, because it would bring us attention? Like when I ended up in the hospital two months ago." I said kind of confused by all of this and the added, " I mean I went loads of times before I ended up in the hospital because of Vlad. That and nothing bad happened when I went to the doctor, so why now does it matter?"
"Well hunnie, what your mother and I meant by not going to the doctor, is a human doctor. You may not have ever noticed this, but every time you had to go to the doctor, we would take you to a shape shifter doctor, just in case, because even when you didn't know you were a shape shifter, we had to make sure you didn't some how bring attention to the doctor. Mainly because our bodies are slightly different than a human's." explained my dad. "Oh, that makes sense." I replied.
"Yep." After my dad had said that , I thought for a bit and then said, "So what makes our bodies different from a human's body?"
"Well for one thing, our bodies can heal faster, and are sort of complex, because our DNA is mixed with other animals DNA. Also our body's temperature is slightly different." was my dad's reply. "Oh um, ok." I replied back. After that, my dad went down the hall to our linen closet and took a huge bandage out and then came back to me and was about to put the bandage on me, but then stopped. Then he muttered to himself, "Maybe we should clean this a bit before we patch it up." And then walked into our kitchen and turned on the sink. After letting the water run for a bit, he turned the faucet off and came out of the kitchen with a wet dish rag in his hand. Then he put the rag on my shoulder, it felt very cold, but also very nice and soothing on my hurt shoulder. After that he took the rag off and put the bandage on. When he was done, he smiled at me and said, "There now the wound is protected while we go on our way to the doctor, but first we need to make a call."
After that he left the living room and went up stairs to the den to go call the doctor. While he did this, my mom came and started to poke me in random places on the left side off my back, and was asking me if it hurt. To my amazement the places she was touching did actually hurt really bad. Then after that she lifted my shirt up to look, and see if there was anything there, and well to my surprise there was, because she screamed and dropped my shirt back down. Hearing this, my dad came racing down the stairs and yelled, "WHAT!" As he came into the living room, he saw my mom with a scare look on her face and also her hand was clasped over her mouth. Then she looked at my dad and said, "John, you should see for yourself." That's when I really started to freak, out and started to panic mainly because I couldn't see what was on my back. So when my dad lifted up my shirt, he said in a sort of confused but angry tone, "Luna, are you sure it's just your shoulder that, that boy hurt?"
"Ye-ye-ye-ah?" I said, and then added, "Why?"
"Because your mother and I see huge Blackish-purple bruises up and down your back." He practically growled and then started for the front door saying, "That's it! I'm going to have a talk with Dmitri about his son." But before he got to the door, my mom was suddenly standing in front of it and said, "John, calm down, yes I know you're angry and frustrated, but we need to take our daughter to the doctor before we deal with the monster that lives across the street from us!" After hearing this, my dad settled down a bit and then said," You're right I should." Then he came back to where I was and looked at me and said, "How could you have not known that your back hurt?"
