Lana's POV

"So." I asked. "What did Brian want?"

I was sitting on the side of the bed, watching Matt get dressed, we were about to head downstairs and grab some breakfast. We had a free day today and we were deciding what to do.

"He wanted to go play golf or do something." Matt told me, pulling on his shoes and smiling at me.

"What did you tell him?"

"That I was busy." He murmured, leaning over and kissing.

"Don't be silly." I said softly. "You should go and play golf or something."

Matt frowned. "I thought you and I were going to do something together babe?"

It was true, we had planned on spending the day together, but right now, I think Brian needed Matt more than I did.

"I just think maybe Brian needs to get away." Is said moving closer to him and wrapping my arm's around him.

He looked at me and nodded. "Yeah you're probably right."

I really did want to spend today with Matt, but right now, his friend needed him.

"We can have dinner tonight." I suggested.

He nodded. "Let me call Brian back." He told me, kissing my nose. "And yes baby, we will have dinner tonight. I just feel like I'm neglecting you Lana."

I smiled. "You're not neglecting me silly." I told him. "Now call Brian and then lets get breakfast, this baby is starving."

We finished getting ready then headed downstairs. None of the other's were up yet but I wasn't surprised, they probably hit the drink hard last night, well because they could, I couldn't so I was generally in bed pretty early and Matt always insisted on coming with me, not that I was complaining.

"So is Brian meeting you here?" I asked Matt once we'd finished eating.

"Yeah." He said nodding. "He should be here any second."

"O.kay." I said standing up. "Have a good day and I'll see you this afternoon."

Matt stood up and we walked back to the lobby where he pulled me into his arm's, kissing me softly.

"I'm really sorry Lana." He murmured. "I really wanted to spend the day with you."

"It's fine." I whispered against his lips. "But you're all mine tonight."

"Oh yeah." He murmured.

"Ew god do you two ever stop?" Brian cried jokingly, interrupting us.

"Jealous." Matt said smiling at me.

I turned and looked at Brian, he looked terrible. He had bags under his eye's and he just looked miserable. My guess was that whatever was wrong with Marty was really getting Brian down and I was glad that Matt had agreed to hang out with him today.

Matt kissed me quickly then they left, now I just had to work out what I was going to do with myself today and the thought of just relaxing felt appealing to me. Hanging out in my undies, eating and doing nothing.

I got in the elevator and pressed the button, having a thought. Fuck it, I was doing it and when the doors opened I took a deep breath, stepping out.

I walked down the corridor until I reached the door I wanted, then I knocked quickly.

I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I was here now, so I was staying.

I heard the lock disengage then the door opened. Marty stood there, looking pretty much as bad as Brian did.

"What the fuck do you want?" She snapped, glaring at me.

"We need to talk." I snapped back, pushing past her.

I was done with Marty's shit. Obviously I'd done something to upset her, and even if we weren't friends anymore, I wanted an explanation and I wasn't leaving until I got one.

"I have nothing to say to you Lana." She muttered, closing the door.

"Funny that." I said turning to face her. "Because lately you've had plenty to say to me, none of it nice, but plenty of it."

She didn't reply, she just stood there glaring at me so I continued.

"So what did I do Marty?" I asked. "What did I do that made you hate me so much?"

She looked at me like I was stupid, shaking her head and then I watched as her face crumpled and she started crying.

"I'm serious Marty." I said. "I do not know what I did, and maybe you won't ever speak to me again, but please, please Marty, tell me what it was."

She rubbed her hand over her face and sobbed. "You didn't do anything Lana." She cried.

"Well I must have." I told her.

"No." She whispered. "You didn't."

"Well tell me, please." I cried. "Because something is wrong Marty, talk to me, tell me."

She just stood there crying, so I took her hand, leading her to the couch they had in their room.

"You didn't do anything Lana." She said softly, wiping her face. "I did it, it was all me. I'm ruining my marriage, I'm ruining everything."

"Why Marty?" I asked again. I just wanted to understand.

"Oh god Lana." She cried. "Isn't it obvious, I want a baby and I can't fall pregnant."

That was it? This was all over the fact that I'm pregnant?

"You want a baby?" I asked. I knew her and Brian had talked about it, I just didn't know they'd been trying.

"More than anything Lana." She whispered, looking at me.

I didn't know what to say, so I reached out, pulling her to me and hugging her. "And I'm pregnant." I said softly, because now it all made sense.

"I don't hate you Lana." She said, hugging me back. "I just hate the fact that you have everything I want."

"Yeah but Marty." I said softly. "You need to remember that I went through a lot to get here, and yes, now I'm happy and I couldn't be happier, but god Marty, it took me a long time to get here."

"I know Lana." She said. "I know that."

"I guess what I'm trying to say is there's light at the end of the tunnel." I told her. "Yeah, it might be bad now, and you are having a bad time, but it will get better, that I can guarantee."

"You're right Lana." She sniffled, wiping her face again. "I just need to keep telling myself that." I nodded, she did need to tell herself that. "And god, I'm sorry Lana, I really am, I never meant a word of anything I said, I really didn't, you just look so good pregnant and I have wanted to apologise, for a while, I've wanted to apologise, but I just kept getting myself in too deep. Me and my big mouth."

"It's okay Marty." And it was, she was my friend and I'd always forgive her.

"I've wanted to ask about your baby and I've wanted to be there for you during your pregnancy, it was just hard." She explained.

"You can be here now." I said, smiling at her.

She nodded and smiled. "I will be Lana, I will be the best Aunty that baby has."

Good because I really wanted Marty in my life and I really wanted Marty in my baby's life.

"Can I do something?" She asked softly, looking at me with wide eye's.

"Of course." I told her. "As long as it doesn't hurt."

"It won't." She said softly.

I sat there looking at her and she smiled before leaning down and resting her head on my stomach.

"Hi baby." She said quietly and I couldn't help it, I started crying.

I couldn't imagine what she was going through, all I knew was that it was tearing her apart.
