Matt's POV

"I'm going soon." I called out to Lana, who was currently in the bathroom.

"Okay." She said walking out in, surprise surprise, her underwear. "I'll be going soon as well."

"You could come with me." I suggested.

She screwed up her face. "I would spend the day with you Matt, just not out in the heat."

"Well we could do something else?"

She smiled and walked over to me. "No Matt, it's fine." She told me. "Go out and enjoy the day, I know you want to go and it's fine, I don't mind."

"Okay." I said pulling her into my arms. "Besides Brian would probably lose his shit if I didn't go."

"True." She whispered, kissing me.

"What time are you and Jenna meeting up?" I was actually really happy that Jenna had called Lana when they'd arrived in town last night and I was glad they'd made plans together.

"In about half an hour." She said, grabbing a dress and pulling it on. "Does this look alright?"

I looked at her and smiled. "It looks beautiful."

"You're biased." She laughed, looking in her suitcase for a pair of shoes.

I watched her pull them on. Damn, I wish I hadn't made plans with the guy's, Lana looked so nice I kind of wanted to take her somewhere. "You look beautiful Lana." I told her. "I hope some guy doesn't try and pick you up."

"Matt." She said turning to face me. "I think this might be a deterrent." She said, indicating to her stomach.

"Good." I smiled. "At least they'll know you're taken."

She shook her head and walked out into the living area. "I'm going to call Mom first."

"Wait, you're going to tell your Mom?" I asked.

"Of course." She said smiling. "I have to tell someone."

She was right of course, but I wanted to tell everyone.

"Yeah well I guess I better call my Mom." I told her, picking up my phone. "Because I can guarantee your Mom will call my Mom within a minute of you hanging up."

Lana smiled at me. "You're right."

And hell yes, I knew I was right.

I went into the bedroom while Lana stayed in the living area. It was time to tell our parents that we were engaged.

"Hey Mom it's me." I said as soon as she answered.

"Matthew honey, how are you? Where are you?" She asked straight away.

"We're in Florida." I told her.

"How's Lana and that precious grandbaby?" She asked, not really caring about anything but Lana and the baby.

I smiled. "Good Mom, Lana's a little tired, but then again, so am I."

"You have no idea what tired is son until that baby is born." She chuckled.

"Yeah so I've been told." But I didn't care, I couldn't wait until our baby was born, I was so excited I was like a kid at Christmas.

"Is Lana there, I wouldn't mind saying hello?" Mom asked.

"She's talking to her Mom." I explained smiling, because I heard Lana reacting to her Mother, she'd obviously told her, and judging by the noise Lana's Mom was happy for us.

"Oh damn." She said. "I miss you two around here."

"God Mom." I said chuckling. "Anyway I have some news." I told her.

"Uh oh, good or bad?"

"Good." I told her, and it was good, very good.

I looked up as Lana walked into the room smiling. "Mom I'll put you on speaker so you can talk to Lana." And I put it on speaker and pulled Lana close to me.

"Lana honey how are you feeling?" My Mother asked her.

"Good." Lana said smiling at me. "Really good."

"Good, I'm glad to hear that. I assume my boy is taking good care of you?" She asked.

"You know he is." Lana said softly, putting her arm around my waist.

"Mom." I said interrupting. "Do you want to here our news or what?"

"Oh yes of course I do." She said. "What is it?"

"Well." I said smiling at Lana. "We got engaged."

I listened as my Mother made a strange squeaking sound, then it all came out at once, a word vomit. "Oh my god you did? That's such good news, about time Matthew, oh my, I have to tell people, oh my god bye." And the phone went dead and I stood there looking at it.

"I guess she's happy." I said turning to Lana and she burst into laughter.

"My Mom wasn't much better." She said. "Now hadn't you better go." She suggested and she was right, we were meeting downstairs.

"Okay." I said, kissing her. "I'll see you later and have a good day."

"Okay." She murmured. "Have fun."

I kissed her again and headed downstairs, as I walked out of the elevator I saw the other guys waiting and I headed over to join them, I also noticed Marty and Rachel drinking coffee and just the sight of her pissed me off. Who the fuck did she think she was?

"Ready?" Brian asked as I approached and I nodded.

We all headed outside and headed down to the festival. It was hot as all fuck, but I was looking forward to hanging out, listening to a few of the bands, it would be a good day.

"So, what's Lana up to?" Brian asked as we headed in to the venue.

"Hanging out with Jenna. Do you know her? Aaron's wife." I said to him.

"Oh yeah I know her." He said, looking down as we walked.

"Yeah I would have liked her to come with me but it's just too hot for her."

He nodded. "Yeah, it is hot here." He said. "What did you two do last night?"

We made our way to one of the stages, showing security our passes, at least we got to hang out side stage instead out in the blazing heat.

"We hung around the room." I told him. "Got engaged."

"Wait, what." Brian said stopping and looking at me.

"Yeah." I said smiling. "I asked her to marry me."

"Aw man congratulations." He said shaking my hand and slapping my back. "That is great news."

I nodded because I agreed, it was fucking fantastic news. "Thanks."

"Man you kept that a secret." He went on. "Wait til I tell Marty."

"Yeah I'm pretty sure she won't give a fuck." I muttered.

"Look Matt." Brian said, turning to face me. "I'm sorry for the way she's been acting, but she's going through some stuff at the moment and it's kind of hard."

I nodded. "I understand that but what she's done to Lana well, it's kind of unforgiveable Brian." I told him. "Lana thought Marty was her friend, but I guess not." I turned to walk away but I looked back at him. "But it's okay, Lana and I are happy Brian, really happy and well we really don't have room for negativity in our lives."

"Matt, I'm sorry." He said again.

I shrugged. "Maybe it's Lana you should be apologising to." I suggested. "I'm just sorry that it's come to this."

And I was, I was sorry. I wasn't sure what Marty's problem was, but she wouldn't be taking it out on Lana anymore, I would make sure of that.
