Lana's POV
"Are you ready?" Matt asked, walking into the room.
I glanced at myself in the mirror. "Yep." I told him smiling.
I walked out into the living room, making sure I had everything.
"Um, where's her majesty?" I asked Matt, raising my eyebrow's.
He smiled his dopey smile, the smile he always had when ever someone mentioned Avery. "In her room, getting ready."
I smiled and stepped closer, wrapping my arm's around his neck. "We can grab a minute." I murmured and no sooner than I'd said it and Matt was kissing me.
I closed my eye's, savouring it, it was just something I'd never get sick of.
"So." Matt murmured. "When we get home tonight, can we work on that thing we talked about?"
I smiled at him. "Why yes we can."
"Good." He whispered.
"Yes." I whispered. "And maybe this time we'll have a child that actually likes me."
"Avery likes you Lana." He said smiling. "She just loves me more."
And that was true, so true. Avery was a daddy's girl, he couldn't do anything without her and god forbid if I touched Matt.
"I am ready." Our three year old daughter announced walking in and looking at us.
I looked at her and smiled, wondering where the time had gone.
She looked at me, and her eye's grew wide. "Mommy." She screamed. "He's mine."
I shook my head and stepped away from Matt, I'd gotten used to sharing him and besides, I didn't mind sharing with Avery, not at all.
"Now." Matt said, attempting to be stern. "You can share me."
She shook her head. "No I can't." And she walked to Matt, holding her arm's out.
I watched as he leant down, picking her up and kissing her face softly, it was another thing I'd never get tired of, watching Matt with our child.
"Are we ready?" I asked them both, watching them both nod. "Well let's go."
"Mommy." Avery asked. "Do I have to play with Dylan?"
I smiled shaking my head. "Only if you want to."
Dylan was Brian and Marty's son and he was at that age where he followed Avery around everywhere, she hated it and I couldn't help but wonder how'd she'd cop with a sibling.
Matt and I had decided it was time for another, we were ready and honestly, I was looking forward to it, I just loved being a mother.
And a wife, I thought smiling, glancing at our wedding picture. We'd finally gotten married and it had been the perfect day. Matt had been at the front of the church waiting for me thank god, even though I knew he loved me, I was still worried that he'd run away again. It had been a wonderful day, just perfect, I'd finally gotten to marry my best friend.
"Let's go." Matt announced and we locked up, heading to the car.
I got in while Matt put Avery in her seat, I couldn't do it, she just wouldn't let me.
Matt got in and he put his hand on my knee as we drove over to Marty and Brian's house and I smiled as I heard Avery complaining in the back.
"Why can't Daddy touch me?" I asked as we arrived, parking the car.
I turned around and looked at her as she undid her own seatbelt. "Mommy." She said quietly, leaning over and kissing me. "You're beautiful." And then her smile grew wider as her father opened the door and held out his arm's.
I shook my head getting out, she was just so sassy and I could only imagine what she was going to be like as a teenager. She had us both wrapped around her little finger.
We knock and an exhausted Marty answered, looking a little flustered. "Hi." She smiled, stepping back to let us in.
I hugged her, smiling. "You look tired." I said softly.
"Ugh." She said indicating to her seven month pregnant belly. "I'm exhausted."
Marty and Brian were on their way to child number two, and while Marty complained about it I knew she couldn't wait, she was a natural at mothering.
"Averyyyyyy." Dylan screamed running in.
I looked at him and smiled. He was such a handful and took everything as a challenge. He was so much like his father it was ridiculous.
"Come on." Marty said and we followed her out the back.
Brian was there, drinking a beer and Matt grabbed one joining him.
I watched as he placed Avery on her feet and I smiled as she frowned at him, she would have preferred Matt carry her around all night.
"So." I said as Marty sat down next to me. "Matt and I have decided to try for number two."
"Good." She said smiling. "I knew you would soon."
I smiled nodding, looking at Matt. We were happy and we wanted our family to grow.
We had a nice dinner, well as nice as it could be with Dylan running around screaming, encouraged, of course, by his father.
"God I hope this one's like me." Marty groaned after we'd cleaned up.
I laughed. "He's like you, don't worry about that." And he was, you couldn't deny who's Dylan's parents were.
She sighed and smiled. "I know and I wouldn't change it for anything."
I sat there as Avery climbed on my lap to get way from Dylan. I kissed her little face and looked at Matt and smiled.
I felt the same was as Marty.
While our journey had been rough and it had taken a lot to get where we were, I was happy, so happy and I knew Matt was too.
Matt looked over at me and smiled.
And I wouldn't change any of it, not one little bit.
