"About the Kuranin's motives... We think that escaped prison felon Pierre Giuseppe is involved at least a little bit, so maybe the motive has something to do with his family," J announced.

"So it has to do with his wife's murder and daughter's kidnapping?" X suggested.

"That would make sense..." F agreed.

"But why would he do all of that? The culprit was never caught in either of those crimes, so nobody can prove that the victims did it. They were just involved in the trial surrounding the murder," L frowned. "This guy sure does like confusing us."

"But there's also the matter of the person who could have helped him out of the prison," I reminded everyone.

"Yeah..." Milan looked up at me. "Miss Nice Blue Lady?"

"Yes?" I asked the small girl, crouching down to her eye level.

"What do you think about these mean Kuranin people?" Milan questioned of me.

"I think that whoever helped Giuseppe escape is helping him out," I replied. "And maybe they have other helpers from around the city who are assisting in the mass killings."

"So you theorize that the Kuranin is a group of serial killers and not just one?" J asked, her eyes lighting up.

I nodded. "I'm not on this investigation entirely, so don't take this the wrong wa-" I tried to warn her, though she cut me off by throwing her hands in the air.

"If I can get Felix to help me out with this, maybe he can get a letter and become a real agent! I mean, he has enough information about serial killers to add up to the rest of us, even including D!!" J exclaimed. "I have to go call him and tell him about this great news!"

L sighed, shaking her head, as J ran off. "I don't understand that girl," she declared.

"I think only Griffin does," F frowned.

"Could somebody please tell me who D, Q, and Griffin are?" Connor asked, sick of us saying things he didn't understand.

"D and Q are agents back at Interpol. Griffin is D's assistant and the professional bumbling idiot," M explained.

"That's not a very nice name!" Milan cut in, pouting at M. "You sure are rude, Mister M!!"

"Says the person who kicked Drew..." I heard M mutter, leaving me wondering who 'Drew' was. Maybe a witness from this case?

"Back to the Kuranin motives," Vesgate cut in. "Who do we think that the assistant in the escape could possibly be?"

"Let's go back to the tunnels and see what's connected to Giuseppe's cell. Maybe that will give us an answer," Celosia suggested.

"I can crawl back into the tunnels to see," Milan declared. "It was fun."

"What's all this about tunnels?" I asked.

"Milan found some tunnels yesterday that we think provided means of escape for Pierre Giuseppe and maybe the person who helped him out," Connor explained. "I agree with Milan on the idea of revisiting the tunnels to see about who was staying in the cells connected to the pathways."

We all walked inside of the prison and found our way to a cell being cordoned off from the others. This was the cell, I supposed.

"Under the bed," Milan told us, pointing to the bed. She entered the cell and heaved the bed away from the corner, some help from F and Connor needed. She shot them smiles before clambering into the tunnels.

We all waited for a few seconds, but a feminine, childlike cry cut through the previously quiet air. "It's connected to the cell to the right!" Milan exclaimed. "Check under the furniture in there!"

I made my way into the cell and pulled the bed (which had been on the wall closest to Giuseppe's cell) away from the wall. Sure enough, there was a tunnel right there. It looked rather well dug, too.

"We found it!" I called back to Milan. "Anything else?"

"The cells on either side of those two, so right of Mr. Pierre Giuseppe's cell and whoever this guy's is to the left!" Milan cried. "More tunnel entrances must be under the beds in there, too!!"

"In that case, we need to figure out who those cells belonged to so we can prove that they were involved in the breakout somehow," Celosia announced.

"I can go get those files from the warden if you all want me to!" N exclaimed. "I've been here before, so I know where his office is."

"I'll come with you," M said, following N from the hallway.

"So once we figure out who's cells those are, we should be home free?" Celosia asked.

"Not exactly. We don't know if there will be something unexpected involved," I told her. Celosia groaned unhappily at my response.

"These guys certainly aren't very nice," commented Milan.

"Criminals usually aren't," Vesgate said. I think Connor looked a little bit uncomfortable at hearing this...

"I'm kind of worried about what will happen on the 25th if we fail, or even if we succeed. We have no idea what we're up against in this case," X whispered. "I can't wait to find out who L is so we can finish this case up and I can get back to my research..."

"Research on what?" I asked him.

X, who didn't think anybody had been listening, gasped in a cliché fashion. "I-it's a friend! I'm looking for a friend who I haven't seen in a while!" X babbled, his eye twitching nervously.

I stared at him for a few seconds. He certainly is a strange little soul with a strange little bear... And speaking of the bear...

"Master Buddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!"
