After I ran away from the group, I stared down hallways cautiously, wondering what could be down each abandoned pathway. A slight breeze ran through the area, making me gulp. I knew that I should have brought a jacket...

Since none of the other investigators had followed me, I figured that they had decided this was up to me, which made pride burn brighter than a flame in my chest. They trusted me with something like this. I couldn't let them down at a time as critical as this one. Who knew? Maybe one of those people down there was the mystery girl who wouldn't stop calling us!

I followed my ears into the room next to the one where the quartet of mystery people were. Judging by the profiles I had seen of them, I deduced that three of them were Pierre Giuseppe (the strawberry blonde man), Dark Ness (the dark brown haired guy), and Dee Vil (the black haired woman). The fourth girl, the one with the turquoise highlights, was the only unfamiliar figure to me. I frowned. Why was she working with criminals like this...?!

"What are we doing on the 25th?" This voice belonged to the younger girl, the one who I still didn't know the name of.

"Since those pesky investigators won't leave us alone, we're going to be getting them out of our way. There's no way our plan could possible succeed if they won't just butt out of our business. So we're going to do what we Kuranin members do best: torture and cause suffering," Giuseppe smirked. He laughed evilly, making me hold back a gasp. Just what was he planning that was so bad?! And why was it against myself and the rest of the investigation team?!

"One of us stabs one of them, one distracts one, but what about the others?" Ness asked.

"So far, we have M, N, X, F, and Quell taken care of. If we could just get rid of Lawton, then Tsumi and Clever will be left on their own, and they're not even real investigators, so they'll be doomed without the rest of their team," Giuseppe answered.

"Then how do we get Lawton out of the way?" Vil questioned.

"It's simple: we make him stay somewhere. Lock him up with the rest of the planned hostages or something like that," Giuseppe replied.

"Why are we even doing all of this stuff? It makes no sense when you could just send one of us off to take care of them once and for all," Ness groaned.

"Because doing all of this is just more fun. And we all know how much I love having some fun," Giuseppe told him. He broke into a mad smile and laughed.

"You people can do what you want. It sounds like a three person plan to me," scoffed the other girl.

"You can't just leave us behind like this, Lynnette. This is our grand finale to show the world that we're the ones who they should fear and not any of those other criminal wannabes," Vil said. I noticed how annoying her accent was at this point, and I tried not to gag on how she sounded like a valley girl. I never liked people who talked like that, let me tell you.

"Yeah, actually, I can. I don't want to do this stuff anymore. The killing is fun, but these other things are just beneath me and my superior rank to the rest of you," the mystery girl, Lynnette, I think her name is, told her with a hidden growl behind her tone. She didn't sound at all happy with what was going on...

"You're the youngest out of all of us. Your rank is nowhere near superior to the rest of us. You're just a child, Farrell. So just shut up and leave the big bad planning to the adults, will you?" Ness told her.

"I have to agree with the rest of these people. You need to watch your mouth, because if you don't, Lynnette Farrell will be just another name on our list of victims. Uccello resisted, and you saw what happened to her," Giuseppe snarled.

'Farrell' growled in anger. "I hate it when you idiotic fools of criminals are right about things like this..." I heard her mutter.

"Which is exactly why you need to be a good little girl and follow our instructions before you end up in a position just as bad, if not worse, as Uccello's. Got it, honey bunches?" Vil asked her with what I'm sure was an evil smirk.

"Fine..." Farrell whispered.

"Good little criminal girl. Now, I'm sure that you're going to want to go lock yourself in your room of this station to think on what sort of sins you would be committing against the Kuranin by resisting our superior position to newbie killers like you," Giuseppe told her.

"Fine..." Farrell repeated. As she walked by me, I plastered myself against the wall, my breath stopping in my moment of panic. I bit my lip to keep from letting out any sound that I was present. Luckily, Farrell didn't seem to have noticed that I was there, leaving me the luckiest girl alive.

I ran back to the group, panting for the breath that I had stolen from myself by panicking for those few yet terrifying moments. The others looked concerned at what was making me panic so much, but I didn't have the energy to provide a decent reply.

They seemed to understand that what I had heard was more than just a little bit crucial to our investigation.
