I woke up to hear wailing.
I groaned angrily and rubbed my eyes. Why were people being so loud?! Couldn't they see that I was trying to get at least a little bit of sleep?!
I looked around and growled, ready to slap whoever was crying so loudly. It was getting more than a little bit annoying. I saw that one Griffin kid and the forensic science girl curled up in the corner. Griffin was hiding in one corner while Blake was in another corner. She wouldn't shut up.
I glared and stood up, stomping my way over to her. "What the heck is wrong with you?! Why are you yelling so loudly?!" I demanded angrily.
Griffin flinched at hearing my voice. He whimpered and hid a little bit more. Well... As much as you can hide in a plain metal box.
Blake refused to stop crying, much to my dissatisfaction. She wouldn't stop crying for a Buddy person. It was getting more than a little bit annoying. "B-B-Buddy...!" Blake whispered, rubbing her eyes.
I sighed. "Could you please be quiet? We're trying to hear ourselves, okay?!" I shouted, unable to take control of my anger.
Blake bit her lip and stared at me with guilty red eyes, though I didn't respond. I merely thanked myself for being scary enough to quiet her. "W-where are we...?" Blake asked quietly.
"I-I don't know..." Griffin frowned. "The last thing I remember was being at Interpol and then... Somebody grabbed me from behind and then I'm here..."
"I-I was at GatherLaw... Something similar happened to me, too," Blake murmured. "I-I hope Buddy comes to save me soon... I miss him..."
"I was investigating the Kuranin when I went outside and blacked out," I frowned. "Maybe that has to do with why in the world we're locked up here."
"Y-you think that the K-Kuranin are holding us here?!" Blake yelled, no longer the quiet and sensitive girl I had gotten used to in the past two minutes. I groaned, hoping and praying and wishing on my lucky star that she wouldn't start bawling like a baby again.
"It's possible, though we can't be sure if it's true or not yet," I said, hoping that this would calm her down at least a little bit.
I guess I wasn't hoping enough.
Blake burst into tears and continued to rub her eyes as she cried. What was her deal?! You'd think that she had already been held hostage by mad criminals with the way that she was acting! And I guess that the 'being held hostage' thing didn't work out so well!
Griffin was whimpering under his breath, covering his ears in a mad attempt to block out the sound. I wished that I could punch Blake to get her quiet, though I knew that if I did punch or get violent with her, she'd only cry louder.
"Look at you three. You're awfully pathetic."
I looked up to see a woman standing near the doorway of our metal box. Her hair was dark, so it didn't take long before I recognized her as being the Dee Vil that I had seen days before during the investigation. She was twirling her hair over her finger, trying to look cool headed. I admit that she was good at it.
"W-who are you...?!" Griffin whispered, afraid to raise his voice to be much louder.
"That doesn't matter. I'm merely a member of the Kuranin. That's all you need to know, simpleton," Vil answered. "And do any of you have chloroform? I want to get that stupid little girl to shut up and stop screaming so much."
Blake only cried louder at hearing this. She was holding her temples, as if recalling some terrible memory. I chose to scoot away from her so as not to break my eardrums from her yelling.
"Let us out, you buffoon," I snarled.
"It's not nice to call people buffoons, Ms. Quell. Why don't you shut your mouth and let the adults do what they want?" Vil questioned with a demonic smirk. I hate her already!
"I don't care what you want! Just let us go before I have to punch that stupid smile off your even more stupid face?!" I screamed, making Griffin flinch in shock. He hid behind the weeping Blake.
"No need to get so violent. Please calm down. You're scaring the other hostages. I want to be the one to scare them, Ms. Quell," Vil said. Her voice was unnaturally calm, which made me want to throttle her so badly.
"I can do what I want, Vil!" I roared, my hand tightening into a fist. I thrust my hand forward and let my anger out through a punch to her cheek.
Vil recoiled as her cheek started turning all sorts of crazy colors. She stared at me in confusion and shock before pivoting on her heel and walking out, muttering a few vulgar words on the way out.
I grinned victoriously, turning back to Griffin and Blake. "Looks like she won't be bothering us again anytime soon, eh?" I joked, laughing. Punching things always took my anger out.
Blake whined and hugged her knees to her chest. Oh, great! Perfect going, Celosia! Now she's afraid of you and will cry endlessly if you get anywhere close to her!!
I sighed and sat in one of the two unoccupied corners. I played around with my hair angrily, a million and one thoughts about how to get out of here running through my brain.
Too bad not one of them seemed reliable enough to work.
