Q's office was just as I remembered it: chaotic, insane, and filled with every variation of technology you could imagine. People ran around in the bustling room, bumping into each other quite a bit. I sighed. How long would it be until Q got all of these agents to clean themselves up?

"Here we are," Q declared. Griffin looked excited and bouncy. I guess he wasn't used to being in a high up Interpol setting since he's B for bumbling idiot. There's a reason we call him that, so we don't let him into any area that he could potentially screw up.

He's in my office a lot, to say the least.

"What kind of information did you find on the escapee?" I asked Q. "Griffin told us most of it, but I doubt that he was able to get through everything you found."

"H-hey!" Griffin cried. "You guys don't cut me enough slack! It's not like Kotoko can help read off legal documents like I can!"

"But Kotoko didn't shoot D, did she?" M challenged with crossed arms.

Griffin didn't even begin to come up with a retort, knowing there was no fighting with M when he got in this stubborn mood.

"Could we have the file, please?" N asked with a cheesy grin. He looked more than a little awkward like that... Kind of like that one defense attorney with the four hair colors from some of my regular cases a year or there about back...

"Here you are," Q said, handing over a gray folder to our superior. N nodded at him simply before flipping open the folder and looking through the files.

"You're positive it's Giuseppe who escaped?" M asked Q. "Because if you're not, you're going to start getting paid less than Griffin."

"But I don't get paid-" Griffin began.

"Exactly," M cut in.

I sighed. "If we're done arguing over paychecks, why don't we talk about the real pressing matter here?"

"D has a point. The prison escapee should be our priority. This Pierre Giuseppe could be a definite possibility as to who the leader of the Kuranin organization could be," F agreed. "Arguing about other matters won't get us any further in our deductions."

"So we think that this Giuseppe guy is the Kuranin leader because he broke out of prison recently and would have a direct connection to all of the victims?" X recapped.

"Not exactly. He didn't know all of the victims directly. June August, for example, had never met him before now. Giuseppe was connected to family members of victims in a similar position to her," F corrected.

I sighed. "The connection is still present," I said, clenching my fists. It riled me up to think of the fact that the real killer was doing this for something merely known as revenge. I had a... Background with killers of this standard, and let me say that the thought does not please me.

"Direct connection or not, there's still one thing that's bugging me," Griffin cut in.

I rolled my eyes in exasperation. "What is it, Griffin...?!" I asked him. I wanted to say 'the adults are talking,' but that would be a slight insult to adults.

"Does this mean that Pierre Giuseppe or whatever his name is was the one who sent us those weird messages?" he asked.

"How do you know we got a message from the Kuranin...?!" X gasped. "My laptop is supposed to be closed off from the rest of the Interpol technology!"

"The same message was sent to all of our computers earlier today," I explained. "But for once, Griffin does make a good point."

"I personally don't think that he was the one to send the message," Griffin declared. "I mean, the person who sent us that message sounded like a female, and Pierre was confirmed male in his files from his time in prison."

"Maybe he was using some sort of voice modifier or something like that," Q suggested.

I shook my head. "No. If he wanted us to catch him, he would have just stepped up and given himself in. If he wanted to explode the city, he wouldn't have given us a chance," I countered.

"So this means that there's a third side to this war?" F asked me with a frown.

I nodded. "It appears that way," I agreed.

"But who would have the motivation to get us to catch the Kuranin? And how did they get access to all of the Interpol technology to send us that message?" X asked.

"I wish I knew," M sighed. "It could potentially be anybody now that the suggestion of a voice modifier has entered the equation. We'll never know until we find out who the real mastermind behind all of this is."

"Wait!" N suddenly cut in. "We still don't know who helped Giuseppe escape prison!"

I frowned. "Yeah... I've been investigating it with Griffin for quite some time now and I still haven't found anybody who could potentially play the role of accomplice in this breakout," I announced. "Whoever it is, they're good at hiding themselves from us of the legal world."

"All of this is still hard to believe... Who would have thought that our investigation would get this far in just one day?" X asked.

"We'll go talk with the rest of the group about what they found before closing off our investigation for the day," M declared.

"Rest of the group?" I echoed, raising an eyebrow.

"Some of the witnesses to the case. Celosia Quell, Vesgate Lawton, Connor Clever, and Milan Tsumi. They're investigating the breakout down at the prison Giuseppe escaped from," F replied.

I was about to comment on their allowing regular people to join the investigation before noticing that would be hypocrisy. Kotoko helped me out quite frequently, after all, not to mention Griffin.

"It's almost 4:45. We should get back there so we aren't late in sharing our results," N suggested.

Everybody nodded and shot Q, Griffin, and I waves before leaving Q's office, leaving me to wonder what it was that the Kuranin was trying to accomplish with this mass murder.
