Inside was the same, fallen boards and trees sprouting from most places. Tess climbed onto the next floor where there should have been stairs. I climbed up also and glanced at the view ahead of me. Tess was looking down at the level beneath us, the path from where we are, and the other side of the room was not there anymore.

"Damn it. Plank fell down" She said. The plank was in clear view, in the middle of the floor we were above. "Be a dear would you?" She joked as I was heading down to a lower part of the floor we were on. "I'll get it" I replied, jumping down. When down, I picked up the fallen plank, remembering how heavy it was. "Here. Pass it to me" Tess called out, getting ready to lift the plank. "It's a bit heavy," I said, placing the plank down. "I think I can handle it," She said, pulling the plank up at a fast pace. "Alright" I murmured as she set it in its rightful place.

"Get your ass up here. Let's move" She called out, from the other side of the room. "Bossy today" I joked. "We're gettin' close," She said. I went back around and crossed the plank. We both headed down the mustard coloured stairs which were only half there. Tess was already down, waiting for me. "Let's make sure there aren't any soldiers around" I pointed out before we headed off. "It's clear. C'mon" Tess called out, already ahead of me. I jumped over the small brick fence and under the rotting stairs. There was a boarded-up house with a couch outside, the rest of the area was overgrown with weeds and trees.

Tess opened up the door on the right-hand side and headed in. "Shut it" She ordered; I did as she said. We both had our flashlights on as the house was quite dark. The room we passed through had chairs and tables, nothing out of the ordinary. "Pick up the ammo. I'm sure we'll need it" Tess said, searching the room. I gathered up all the ammo I could find and followed Tess. She banged on the metal door, and a boy opened the door. "Hey, little man," Tess said. "Make sure the coast is clear," She said, bribing a ration card. "No soldiers. None of Roberts men. Yeah?". The boy took the ration card and closed the door, searching the area for us.

Tess leaned on the stair's railings, crossing her arms. "You know he's expecting us," I said to her. "Well, that will make it more interesting" Tess joked. "good to go," She said as there was a light tap on the door. Tess pushed the door open, and slid out, I followed behind her. I soon noticed two men standing on either side of the walls. "Hey, Tess. Hey, Tess" One of them said, noticing our, or her arrival. "Hey, pretty lady, how you doin' today? I heard you got some merchandise" He said. "Not right now Terrence," Tess said, walking away.

"C'mon. No, no, it's good. I got the card" He replied. "Not... Now. You hear me?". "Okay. I can do that".

We turned the corner, all I could hear were dogs barking. "Don't get huffy puffy about it". I saw where the barking was coming from; they were selling them for 15 tickets each, I had no idea what use a dog would be. There were stalls with crap all the way down. "You touch it, you but it," One of them said. "Tess, it's been a while. You don't visit us anymore" One of them said. "Who is that?" Someone said. "None of your damn business" Someone else replied. We had to walk through an old trailer, and that was when I heard shouting and fighting, but that was typical seeing what type of area this is.

"Where do you think you're goin'," A man said, standing up from his seated position. I was ready to attack before Tess entered the room. "Malick. Sit back down" She said, coming towards us. "Oh, sorry, Tess. Didn't realise you two were together. Go ahead" He said, sitting back down.

I walked out of the trailer. "Who's that?" I asked Tess. "An old headache. Don't ask" She said as we headed on to a wider space, considering the tight alley we had just been through. Tess led us to a guy leaning on the wall. "I'm lookin' for Robert," She said to him. "He comes through here?" She asked, showing her stack of ration cards. "Half hour ago. He went back to the wharf. He's there now" The man replied. The man took the cards as we headed on through.
