"Alright, here you go" Bill said, opening the wooden door for us. There was a ton of cars outside, broken of course. "So... Why don't you fix one of these cars?" Ellie asked, looking around. "Oh my god, you're a genius. I mean the whole time, why on earth hadn't I thought about fixin' one of these cars?" Bill said sarcastically. "Okay... Don't be a dick" Ellie said, she obviously hates not having a straight answer. "Their tires are rotted and their batteries are dead" He said. "Are you done?" She replied. "Only one's making new car batteries are the military".

It was then a loud moaning sound started, I was sure that it had to be more than one clicker due to all the different tones. "Goddammit" I said, not wanting to deal with a new lot of infected. "Infected!" Ellie pointed out as they came running towards us. "Ah, shit. Lock and load" Bill shouted, reloading his gun. I couldn't counted how many runners there was, but I could see two clickers which I would have to take out quickly.  I aimed for the runner closest to me, but Bill took it out before me with his knife. "Runner!" Bill shouted as a runner came behind me, I used my pipe melee weapon to kill it quickly. I shot both clickers down and killed another runner all very quickly, with Bill talking out a lot by himself. "Alright... You gotta check the barricades again. You neglect the simple shit and now you're paying for it" Bill told himself after all the infected were dealt with. I didn't expect him to continue, but he did "You know what that means... Taking all the supplies from the warehouse and lugging to the east fence... again. Then it'll take you to-". "Okay, well now he's talking to himself" Ellie said.

"Yeah... Bill?" I shouted. "Joel? This way" He said, waiting at a fence. "And up we go" He said, putting the key in the lock and opening the gate. After Ellie was through Bill shut the gate doors and locked them again. "You picked a hell of a place to hole up, didn't ya?" I said. "You know, as bad as those things are, at least they're predictable. It's the normal people that scare me" Admitted Bill. "You of all people should understand that" He added. I stopped for a second, knowing what he was getting at, but I wouldn't let it bug me. I picked up some alcohol and rags, looking for more supplies. "What does that mean?" Ellie asked. "Nothin'" I murmured. "You sure that gate's gonna hold 'em?" I asked, following Bill up some stairs.

"Well I locked it. They don't have the key" Bill said. "So which way?" I asked when we reached the top. "We're here. It's in the cellar" He told me. I opened up the cellar doors and Bill went down first, then Ellie and then me. "Well, here we are" Bill said. "You. Don't touch anything" He stated, pointing at Ellie. "And you close the door" He said to me as I forgot, again, so I shut it. Bill turned on a gas lamp which light up most of the room. "Let's gear up" he told me. I saw Ellie going forwards to the weapons on the table "Uh- uh" I said, stopping her. "What? I need a gun". "No you don't" I replied. "Joel, I can handle myself". "No" I argued, "Just... stay here".

"Fine. I'll just wait around for you two to get me killed" She said, pissed. Bill opened a small chest with weapons inside. "This goes on record as the worst fucking job you've ever taken" He said. "It's up there" I said as he picked out a shotgun. "How in the hell is Tess okay with this suicide mission?" He asked, I hated him bringing Tess up. "It's actually her idea" I said truthfully. "Really?" He asked, seeming genuinely surprised. "Well, then the broad's not as smart as I thought she was" He added. "But... Fuck her". He reached down to pick up another gun, "Seriously, you gotta take that kid back to where ya found her". "Bill,I can't just take her back" I answered. "Then send her packing, let her find her own way" He suggested. "Let me tell you a story" He started. "Once upon a time I had somebody that I cared about" I looked at him, not thinking that someone like him could care for someone.

"It was a partner" He told me. "Somebody I had to look after. And in this world that sort of shit is good for one thing. Gettin' ya killed. So, you know what I did? I wisened the fuck up. And I realized it's gotta be just me".
