Winter- Chapter Four- Part 5 Wild Horses

I come out the garage door with Callus and slowly close it without making any sound. I quickly jump onto Callus and say "Go" In a small whisper. He starts to move slowly as we go behind the men who are looking for me. "Are we even sure she's here?" One of them asks. "Man, there were horse tracks down the fucking street. She's here".

All of a sudden a man grabs onto me, "Hey, I got her!" He shouts out to the others. I take my switchblade out of my pocket and quickly stab him in the neck. "What're you waiting for? Shoot her!" One of the men behind me shouts. "But David said-". "Fuck David. Shoot her now!". I don't stand around to see what happens, I tell Callus to go and we start riding down the street at full speed. As men try to grab onto me and Callus I kick them off with my foot. "Agh! Get your ass off that damn horse" One man shouts in protest as dodge their gun fire. "Shit, she's heading off" They say as I near some trees.

"Shoot the horse. Shoot the fucking horse!" Another shouts. And they do, one bullet goes straight through Callus and we are sent plummeting down a hill onto the rough ground. I get to my feet and look over to Callus, he was already dead. "Oh man" I say, seeing as he was my only true sense of quick travel. "Right there! By the horse". They start shooting and I dash into the nearby cabins, but it was clear that they saw me do so. I take shelter in one of the cabins so that I could make a nail bomb, I wasn't as quick to make them as Joel is. 

I wasn't in a bedroom, so I head straight for the bed side table where I find 3 shells for my pistol. I then go around the house and check all the rooms, picking up things like alcohol and a few arrows. "Are we really killing her? David said she wants her alive". This makes me duck down, and hide underneath the windows. "He doesn't get to make that call. James told me it's the girl from the University. How many of our guys were killed there?". They were talking about me, what a surprise.

"Oh shit. I didn't know that was her. Screw David, then. I ain't taking a chance with this". I listen closely, detecting at lease three guys, and they were close. One man comes through the door with a shotgun in his hands. I quickly make my way out of the house, dodging all of the men. There was only three, but I carried a greater risk if I went into combat, especially the fact that they were all armed and they all were desperate to kill me.

"Okay, where do I go?" I ask myself when I far away from all of the guys. I thought I was safe, but i guy from the other end saw me. I quickly take shelter in a abandoned outside hot dog restaurant. I shoot one man with my rifle as he sprints into the room. There was a man behind me who attempted to strangle me, but I bite his arm, releasing his grip. After that I quickly stab him in the stomach before he even tries to kill me again.

I take the shotgun from him and make a run for some nearby toilets. Once i'm inside I kill three other man who decided that they wanted to follow me. I quickly patch up and gather ammo before I kill another man who comes in with my new shotgun. After that I hear even more discussions, they were very close this time. Before I know it they spot me and we all find shelter, they now knew what I was capable of and we slightly afraid. They both try to move to new shelter, but i'm able to gun them both down before they can.

I take out my bow and go up some stairs to where most of the guys first saw me. "Nature track" I say, reading the sign. "Okay, that should get me outta here". I go across what is left of a bridge on top of the large lake, "Okay, don't fall in the water. Don't fall in" I tell myself.
