The Last Of Us (Fan-Fic)

Winter- Chapter Four- Part 2 High Tension

As I rush into the room I instantly go towards a drawer, taking some spare ammo that was inside, knowing that i'd need it. "Follow me. Through here" David says, "Okay" I quickly reply. He pushes his way into a new room, which looked like some sort of engine room. "Do you know where you're going?" I ask. "I've never set foot in this place" He tells me, taking his gun out. "Oh. Great" I say, but I still follow him as he runs in and and out some machines and then up some stairs. "How you holdin' up?" He asks. I shake my head, "You don't need to worry about me". "Alright. Stay close" He tells me as we reach the top of the stairs. 

David jumps over a stack of boxes and I jump over them after him. But as I get on the other side, the floor i'm standing on suddenly collapses, "Oh shit!" I say before I hit the bottom. "Hey, kid - you alright?" David shouts out to me. "I'm fine..." I tell him. There's a rumble from behind David; "More clickers. Get outta there!" He shouts out to me.

I quickly get up and hide behind a wall, I can instantly see one, so I crouch and take my bow and arrow out. I aim the arrow for the clickers head and surprise myself when it soars through the air and instantly kill the clicker, sending it to the ground. I do the same to another one that comes up behind it. I go other to the clicker bodies to retrieve my arrows, but they were broken. I still took some rifle ammo from one of them though.

I find a ladder and quickly climb up it before any other clickers can get to me. When I get to the top I see a clicker coming straight towards me, but before it could sink it's teeth into my skin someone shot it dead. It turned out to be a familiar face; David. "You alright?" He asks. "Oh. There you are" I say, still sort of shocked to see him. 

We don't stop to have a conversation, "C'mon - door's this way" He says, running in the direction we needed to go. I reach up to David as he was stopped at a blocked off section. "That was so close. We need to get up there. That ladder could work". I look up and I see a ladder slightly over the edge of a platform. I find a lower platform and look over to David, "Here. C'mere, boost me up". David quickly walks over and gets in the position, I place my foot in his hands and he quickly lifts me up. "Alright. You be quick... And keep a lookout for those things" David says, I had a feeling that he was looking out for himself. When I start to go around I come across a single clicker. I had no time to think and let the arrow fly out of my fingers and straight into the fungal head of the clicker.

"What's going on up there? Everything alright?" He asks. "Yeah. It's ok" I call back. I take my arrow from the clicker's head and go into a room where there were a ton of supplies and a Firefly pendant. When i'm finished collecting everything I find the ladder and I push it down to David. He quickly takes it and then puts it in the correct place, I jump down and then follow him up. 

We go to a corridor and David shuts the door behind us, but there was no lock so it wouldn't keep infected out for long. "We need to find a way outta here" He says, running ahead, "Okay, old man" I mumble. We come into another room and then go up a few steps to where there were two dead men lying on the floor. "Geez. Looks like someone already fought those things and lost" I say. "Ah lord. I've been lookin' for these boys. Doesn't matter. Grab their gear. I'm gonna look for an exit". I do as he says and pick up the supplies around them. I was lucky enough to find a few nail bombs and even a couple of Molotov's. 

"Find anything?" I ask. "No", he says quickly. "Well, what do we do?". "We hold our ground" He tells me sternly. "Is there any other choice?". "We die".
