The Last Of Us (Fan-Fic)

Summer- Chapter Two- Part 23 Wrong Turn

I see the graffiti on the wall indicating that I will have to dive under to get to the other side. I do what it says and dive down, seeing a passage under water which led to the other side of the gate. As it's shallow water I quickly make and use a health kit to make sure I was good to go. "Oh damn it. Spores" I say, quickly pulling on my gas mask. I could hear a squeaking noise and saw rats crawling across the water in a large group. When they're all gone I pick up some ammo and alcohol and store them away in my backpack. I go through more double doors and find a generator, as I pull it once it makes a stalker hear me and jump at my back, I quickly push it off and kill it using my pipe. "I hate these things" I say. 

Another stalker comes at me and I have to kill that which sets off a clicker, I kill that one with my rifle. Another clicker comes, but i'm ready for it and kill it as it runs towards me. I went back to the generator and successfully started it up. All of the lights turned on, but it made a loud sound setting off what sounded like a lot of clickers. "Goddammit" I said, getting my gun ready.

I jogged up a slope and stayed crouched as I heard infected. They all came at once, a clicker, a stalker and even a bloater. If I tried to kill one another would kill me so I made a mad dash with them close on my heels. As I entered a bathroom I thought it was a dead end and the infected had already started to come in, luckily I escaped through another door and continued to run.

It was no use, they were coming from everywhere, another one jumped on me and it took up more time trying to get them off. I healed as fast as I could, but I could already see a bloater come around the corner, it threw a spore at me, but I just about got away. The further I went the more came, although I finally found the right area, but the door needed a key card, and I had no idea where that was. The bloater was the first one to catch up with me and then more clickers. I had to get back to Ellie, but it seemed like I was going in circles as I was already back in the room where the generator was.

I kept running and in the end I actually lost them. This gave me the chance to look for the key card. I looked in the bathroom again, but there was nothing there but two rotting bodies. The hallway had patches of fungus growing up the walls and on the ceiling. In the end I actually found the key card in a office, I was so relived and I put it safely in my pocket. I could hear more noises as I went back to the locked door and I just hoped that it wasn't the bloater. 

There was another loud sound and it seemed to set off the infected again. I ran right past a bloater and it knew I was there so I just kept running. I found the door I needed and slided the card through, the red light turned green and I opened the door and went through. "Made it" I said to myself. "I gotta find Ellie" I reminded myself, taking my gas mask off. I went into the first door to look for supplies, but it had already been raided. The next office room was a bit more successful as it held a bottle of pills, five to be exact. In a drawer there were a lot of screws which I collected up. There was also a work bench in that room so I set my backpack down and laid out my guns and screws and bolts.

I picked out my shotgun first, seeing as I used it the most. I used 15 screws to increase the clip capacity and the recoil used another 15. After that I didn't have many parts left at all, but I was happy with my decisions. I moved onto another bathroom and quickly grabbed one arrow and two shells. All the toilets were somewhat broken had had graffiti all over them. All of the mirrors were cracked and only half of them remained on the wall above the dark yellow sinks that grow darker with age. 

I decided that what I found was all there was in the area I was in, so I headed to the last door at the end of the hallway and went out.
