I heard a blowing noise behind me, and figured that it must be Ellie. "Are you alright?" I asked. "I'm trying to learn how to whistle" She told me. "You don't know how to whistle?". "Well does it sound like I know how to whistle?". I picked up some tape and scissors, figuring they would be useful to craft melee weapons. I found some shells for my pistol, and some more screws and bolts just laying around.

I picked up a note that was laying on the ground.

REMINDER
Collect more pills. See if I can
scumage scrounge some extra ammo. I only have
THREE! weeks until next drop-off with Tess

It was definitely Bill.

There was another door, but it needed a shiv, and I didn't have one at the time so I had to create one. After I made one, I unlcoked the door and saw a ton of supplies. I collected all of them and stored them away into my backpack. We went out again and there was another locked door. I tried the lock, but it wouldn't budge. "Ah, shit. It's jammed from the other side" I told Ellie.

"Here- boost me up" Ellie suggested. "No, no, that's not such a good idea" I replied. "Well I can't boost you up. How else are we gonna get over there?" She argued. I sighed, "Alright, c'mere" I said, getting in the correct position to lift her up. "Gimme your foot" I said. She placed her foot in my hands and I lifted her up, "Now listen, just open it, okay? Nothin' else". "Sure thing" She replied when she was on the top.

"Easy, easy" I said as she dropped down. "Okay". Ellie pulled out the piped which was jamming the door and opened it for me. "Ta da". "Good job" I said. "Thank you" She replied, seeming quite pleased with herself. Bill's town was huge, and very quiet, which didn't always mean a good thing. The last time I saw him, it seemed he worked alone, but I hadn't seem him in what seems like quite a while. "So, let's say we get a car from this buddy of yours. Then what?" I she asked.

"Well, then we go find Tommy" I told her. "Marlene said he's your brother" Ellie said as we pushed forwards down a hill. "And more importantly he was a Firefly. He'd know where to take you". "Oh, okay" She said. We passed through into the next area, where I continued to explain, "He lives far from here which is why we need a car". "Hey look. Gnomes" Ellie said, getting distracted yet again.

"Yeah. Those are gnomes" I replied sarcastically. "Man, I had an art book filled with these. I always thought they were super cute. Not fairies though. They creep me out". "Alright, then". I was sure I had told her to keep to herself a few minutes ago, but I couldn't complain, she is just a kid. I picked up some more supplies, like tape, scissors and a few rags. We went back, as there were no more things to do there.

I led the way to a open building where there was another rag. There was nothing else in that building, so we came out again and down some steps. There were old rusted cars all lined up, it didn't seem like many of these cars were fixable, but I just had to hope Bill would be able to get something running. "Hmm. Yeah, that's Bill's handy work" I said, seeing that half of the town was blocked off with a mound of wood and metal put together. "Anybody else live in this town?" Ellie asked. "Far as I know, it's just him". As we went through a alley a clicker came by the other side, it walked towards this faint line of wire and exploded.

"Whoa, Nelly. Wha-? What the hell was that?" Ellie asked, looking impressed. "That... would be one of Bill's traps" I said, passing the clickers body. I picked up some ammo, making sure there were no more traps around. "Your friend a bit paranoid, maybe?" Ellie asked. "Now that's putting it lightly" I replied, remembering the strange rules that he follows. "What's the deal with this guy?" She asked. I went over to a dead body which had arrows sticking from it's chest. I pulled the arrows out and put them in my backpack, figuring the bow should be nearby.

"Well, he helped us smuggle stuff into the city. He's... He knows how to find things" I said. "Well, let's hope we don't blow up trying to find him" Ellie replied. "Just watch your step. You'll be fine" I promised. Looking on the wall Bill had graffitied the walls with warnings and threats, I didn't know how well he would take to Ellie.

I lifted up a ladder and placed it on the back of the truck, we climbed up and I found more arrows behind a sofa and leaning on that sofa was a bow. "Hey... Look at that" I said, picking it up. I tested the string by pulling it back, and it seemed quite sturdy so I put it on my backpack. "Let me use that. I'm a pretty good shot with that thing" She insisted. "How 'bout we just leave this kind of stuff to me" I suggested. "Well we could both be armed. Cover each other". "I don't think so" I said, crossing a plank to get to another rooftop. I climbed up another ladder so we were on the top of the building and scanned the area quickly.

"It's clear, come on up" I told her. I went back down the ladder and picked up the plank we crossed, "Here, we can actually use this" I said. I placed it aganist the wall and climbed back up the ladder and then pulled the plank up again to put it down to cover the gap to the next building rooftop. As I crossed the plank to the next rooftop I could see a clicker down below. I took the bow from my backpack and aimed for the clicker's head, "Let's give this baby a whirl" I said letting go of the string. The arrow went straight into the clicker's head, and it fell to the ground just like that. "Now listen. Bill ain't exactly the most stable of individuals" I say, going down the ladder.

I pulled the arrow from the clicker's head and continued, "So, when we get there, you let me do the talkin'. You understand?". "I understand" She said. "We gotta be clear on this. He... He don't take to kindly to strangers" I continued. "Alright". "Bill's a good guy, he just definitely needs some time warming up to you, that's all". We jumped own to the next rooftop and then down a ladder, half of it was missing so we had to jump that part.

There was another explosive wire up ahead so I crouched down under it. "See that wire? Stay underneath it okay? Just keep your head low, and you'll be fine" I pointed out. "Alright". "Shit, look at this" I said, looking at a doorway which had two of those wires. "You hear that?" Ellie asked, "Yeah" I replied, listening to a banging noise. Something was banging on one a door. I didn't know if it was him or one of the infected, but I went up to it anyways.

"Shit, you're gonna go in there?" Ellie asked, "I wanna see what we can find" I replied, opening the door, it didn't seem like there were any infected in the doorway, luckily. "You're gonna find my body when I die from a heart attack" She murmured. "Don't worry. I got this" I replied. We went upstairs and I listened closely, not hearing anything but myself and Ellie. I went into the small bedroom where there was a overloaded suitcase on the bed and a rag. As I entered the living room a runner pounded at me, I used my home-made pipe/ scissor melee weapon to stab into it's neck and kill it.

"Geez. That thing scared the shit outta me" Ellie said. "Well, while we're in here, let's search the place" I said. I went over to a table where there was a note and a name on the wall: Rachel. I picked up the note and read it:

Rachel,

Soldiers are going door to door forcing people
onto buses. I hear yelling a couple of
buildings down- time's running out. I tried
calling, waiting. I don't know what to do, but I
can't wait anymore. I've thrown most of our stuff
into a couple of suitcases. I'll be waiting for you
in the quarantine zone. Come find me.

I'll see you soon!

-Ezra

"You think they ever found each other?" Ellie asked, as I finished reading the note. "How the hell would I know?" I replied, putting the note back. "Well, I'd like to think they did". I went into the old bathroom and picked up a couple pills, five to be exact. "C'mon, let's get outta here" I said, going down the stairs and out of the door.
