The Last Of Us (Fan-Fic)

Summer- Chapter Two- Part 31 Separated

After looking around we come to hallway like part, there were cockroaches climbing the walls and and there were barrels piled up on one side. "You hear that? Infected" Ellie says as we hear moans. "Shh, ssshh. Quiet" I tell them. I crouch as I open up the door, gun ready. As we go through the infected start running at us, "There's three more heading our way!" Ellie shouts as I beat the first runner to death. I run back slightly as Ellie helps me take down another. Me and Henry kill two clickers and another runner before they are all dead.

"Well. I guess we know what happened to these people" Ellie comments, "Seeing how there was a clicker, they've been gone for awhile" I reply. "We keep moving forwards. All we can do is hope that there aren't any more of 'em" Henry says.

I jog up some steps and come across a room with a clothes line with dirty clothes, further inside there was some sort of kitchen set up with baskets of clothes and barrels containing water. I looked around some more and there was only a bit of ammo, so I left the room and went forwards up some more steps. I pick up some parts and go into the nearest door, inside I quickly see a toy rocking horse and some drawings on paper. When my flashlight hits one part of the floor I see words, they read: THEY DIDN'T SUFFER.

As I look up I see some bodies covered by a blanket, they were bodies of children. After that I quickly leave the room, I don't want to see anything more to do with death. I go down steps this time and we look around, "Hey. You think that leads out?" Ellie asks, looking up. "Could be. It's too high for a boost". "Maybe there's another way to get there".

There was no other way but a door behind us. As I opened the door a barrel dropped down, as I looked behind me I could hear something, "Get back" I shout. A large door drops down and Sam jumps back leaving him on the side that i'm on and Ellie with Henry. 

"Sam!" Henry shouts, peering through a hole in the door. "Yeah, i'm cool" Sam replies as we walk up to the door. "That was me. I must've triggered some kind of safety gate or somethin'" I admit, "Henry, see if we can lift this" I add. Me and Henry kneel down and start trying to pull it up. "So... This is awkward" Ellie says to Sam. "Yeah, I know, it's like every time-", "Clickers!" Ellie cuts him off when a loud clicking was produced. "What?" I asked, standing up. "Hey, this thing isn't budging, man" Henry points out as he panics. "Just go, get outta here" I tell him, "Sam. You stay close to him" Henry tells his brother. "Henry, we gotta fuckin' move" Ellie shouts as the clicking noises got closer. "You keep him safe!" He tells me, "Go!".

Henry and Ellie run off as a large group of clickers follow after them. I make sure Sam and I keep quiet as they wouldn't know we were here if we did. "We're gonna be fine" I reassure him, "Yeah, yeah I know" He replies. We walk through the door I had opened and step take each step slowly, not wanting to make too much noise. "Alright, come on, kid. See if we can find a way out of here, yeah?" I whisper. I pick up some ammo and alcohol as I hear a infected close by. As I come around the corner I can see a two clickers, one of them was heading in our direction.

When it was close enough, I shot it with my shotgun as I couldn't risk a stealth attack at this moment of time. The sound of the gun attracted another clicker which I shot as well. Another one came and I dealt with it, taking the ammo they still had on them. I made Sam stay back as I took down two more runners using my machete as I didn't have many bullets left. 

Sam was quite useful, he told me where the infected were so that they didn't come up from behind. The rest seem to be quite disorientated, making it easier to kill them, even though there was a lot. I jump up into another room where there was a shiv and some pills, it looked as if someone use to sleep here judging by the mattress. 

I patched up my cuts before we go up some steps into another bedroom where there was some ammo. We continued on through more areas, with more dead bodies, There was even a hallway with a child's multi coloured rug and baby cots. I picked up a note on a book shelf. It was a child's drawing of two men with the names Ish and Danny. Underneath were the words: Our protectors.

I put the note back and saw a ladder, "Move it" I shout at Sam as I get ready to boost him up. He places his foot on my hands and I push him up onto the ledge where he pushes the ladder down for me. I climb up and we go down a hallway, "Fucking thing!" I hear. 

"Is that Ellie?" Sam asks, "C'mon" I tell him. As we jump down Henry and Ellie run into the room, "Joel, that's them" Sam points out. "Sam!" Henry calls out, a smile upon his face, happy to see his brother still alive. "Oh thank god" Ellie says, I notice that she has her gun in her hand. "We gotta keep running".

We sprint down to another hallway as a hoard of infected chase after us. I shut the door behind me, but I know it won't last, "Ellie, get away from the door!" I tell her. "Maybe we can push it together" Henry suggests, looking at the blocked door. As we start to budge it Ellie shouts "Sam!", "He just crawled through". "He what?" Henry asked. "Sam, what the hell are you doin'" Henry asked as Sam crawled out through the other side like Ellie had did before. "Getting us outta here!" Sam shouts back. "Well, hurry up then".

Sam pulls the pipe out which was jamming the door and I push it open. "Everyone upstairs. Let's go!". We all sprint up the stairs and jump where the stairs end. The room we went in had a door which led the way out, Henry started to try and push it open, but it was locked. "Damn thing's stuck" Henry complains. "Gimme a boost. I can get through that window" Ellie suggests, pointing at the window above the door. Henry boosts Ellie up and she climbs through the window to the outdoors. "Hey, c'mon, Sam. You're not staying in here". "What about you?". "I'll be fine. Come on. Go". 

Henry pushed his brother up and then out the window, leaving us two still inside. "Get ready!" I tell him, reloading my guns."Fuck. Here we go" He murmurs, taking out his pistol. Infected pound into the room, I take the ones closest, shooting them with my rifle. As more run in I take a Molotov and throw it at them. It took down a lot, but there were still a few left that we had to deal with. "We got it!" I hear Ellie say from the outside. Me and Henry go to the half open door and slip out quickly before me and Henry block the door with something heavy.
