The Last Of Us (Fan-Fic)

Summer- Chapter Two- Part 22 Falling Down

As I strangled another man, a hunter hit me from behind with a pipe and I had to quickly beat him back with the bat that I had picked up before. There was yet another man, athough this one had a gun and was shooting at me. I pulled out my rifle which let me shoot and kill him from a far. I pick up the ammo that was left from his gun and pick up another health kit. I can hear more sounds, but i'm not sure whether it's another hunter or not. I go up the staircase, keeping crouched as I want to play it safe.

When I get to the top I can hear more voices. I can even see one of the men as he comes close, which gives me the time to strangle him. Ahead three more hunters came through, and it looked like they all had their own guns. As they are still in a group I throw a nail bomb which kills one, and when their backs are turned I start to shoot at them killing them, although another comes running at me and I have to quickly shoot him. 

I didn't have much ammo left and there were two of them still alive. I choose my shotgun and kill the first, closest man. I didn't realize another man who comes out and grabs me by the neck, before I can do anything, Ellie stabs him in the back with her switchblade and I am able to beat him to death. It starts going crazy when one of the hunters throws a Molotov dangerously close to us, which makes out vision a little blurry from the smoke. We take a step back, but when I see the man who threw it I shoot him as soon as i'm close enough. 

I pick up a Molotov he had on him and look around the rest of the rooms to see if there were any other men, and there was two more in the same room which I killed by a bullet to the head with my shotgun. I didn't know if there were any more, but I decide to look for ammo and supplies. The first room we enter has a double bed and a indoor washing line with clothes attached and a full wardrobe. 

The next room is the bathroom, there are two people dead in a bath tub full with blood. "Oh, creepy" Ellie says, taking in the sight. "Guess they took the easy way out, huh?" She said. "It ain't easy - for many it was better than letting a clicker or a hunter do it for them" I tell her, remembering people who had done the same thing. "Trust me. It ain't easy" I repeat. There's a large hole in the ground, but I don't know whether that is the way out or not so I have a look around first.

I eventually find some stairs and see the easier way through, the elevator. It obviously doesn't work, but we could climb through it. I grab the two doors and push them apart with a lot of effort, and inside there is a ladder which I start to climb up, "Let's see where this goes" I say. When I reach the top it looks like we are on top of the elevator. I see that the next elevator was open and that was the way out. "It's gonna be a tight fit but come on" I say, fitting through quite a tight gap in between the wall and a metal metal wall separating the two elevators. 

I jump down onto the second elevator and it rocks slightly for a few seconds and then it is stable again. Ellie squeezes through and jumps down, this time the elevator did not rock that much at all, obviously due to the weight difference. "You find me something to climb on. Okay, here we go" I say as I boost Ellie up. As she steps on my shoulder the elevator collapses and I fall to the bottom as Ellie shouts. I fall and bounce off of a metal rack at the bottom and fall into water, I hold my shoulder for a while before I swim to the surface, gasping for air.

"Joel!" Ellie shouts. "I'm alright!" I tell her, she had made it to the second floor without falling. "Are you okay?" I ask her. "No!" She shouts back, seeming angry, "You scared the shit outta me!". "I'm... I'm gonna climb down there, okay?". "No!" I shout back quickly, "Stay up there. I'll make my way up to you!". "Don't do anything stupid" She tells me, I start swimming back, my shoulder starts to hurt less and less. As I enter a darker area I switched my torch on and look around. "Alright... Where to know?" I asked myself. I walked through the waist high water and grabbed more supplies, I would make another health kit, but I couldn't whilst I was in the water.

As I make my way to the next room I find some double doors which I push open, before i'm able to walk through the ceiling collapses, blocking my way. "I don't think I tried over here yet" I murmur, heading over to a room with the sign: EXIT

I dive under the water and follow the staircase down and through a door. I looked and dead bodies floating in the water, reminding me that I need to come up for air. When I find the closest surface I come up and get my breathe back. "I need to find a way around this gate" I tell myself. I turn around and head out the room to find another way round.
