After dinner everyone decided to head back to Charlie's place. Dylan brought his own stash of food while the others brought small things. However, Ki had the bright idea of hooking up his ps4 to her TV because it was the biggest out of any of theirs. That was the boys's main concern of the evening, video games.
Kaya and Charlie had honestly rotated between her bedroom, the kitchen, and her bathroom setting things up for her stay. However, as the night began to pass, Charlie could tell that Kaya had grown tired. "Go ahead on out with the boys, it's nearly 12. I'll be out there in a second, just going to finish with this box."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, be there in a sec!"
"Okay." Kaya smiled kindly before turning out the bedroom leaving her alone to finish the box. It was the one Thomas had on the counter, all of her personal belongings.
Bit by bit she unloaded the cardboard box until all that was left was the long silky black cloth... Her grandfather always made her bring it for a special night. Sure she could wear it at premieres, but the dress meant so much more than just flash photography. It was the dress that her mother was wearing when she first met her father, it was the dress she wore when she fell in love. To her that said something, it said that she would follow in the same footsteps as her mother.
This dress was one of the most important things to her, that and her fathers leather jacket. If she focused hard enough, each one smelled exactly like her mother and father used to. It smelled like home.
Charlie hung the two pieces of clothing next to one another. It was where they belonged, together.
Eventually breaking down the box for later use, she stuffed it under her bed with the others and entered the living room. As soon as she did, she couldn't help but smile. Ki and Dylan were having a screaming match over their video game, Will was sitting alongside Kaya laughing at the scene before them and Thomas was at the door handing over money to a Domino's pizza delivery guy.
The boy was awestruck at first upon site of Thomas, but seeing his fandom going Thomas quickly payed and shut the door. "What the hell?" Charlie chuckled as Thomas walked towards them. "We just ate dinner, what are you getting pizza for?"
"We are growing men Sanders and don't you forget it!" Dylan yelled pointing in her direction for emphasis.
Rolling her eyes she stepped forward and took a seat beside Kaya, Will at the other end. All three boys on the ground dug into the pizza without hesitation. Both the girls sent a look to one another, Men.
A realization struck Charlie like a brick wall and she was pulling out her phone scrolling through her contacts to her grandfather's number. "I'll be back." She muttered to Kaya earning a nod of approval.
Thomas looked up watching her step through the boys and towards the deck. Quickly she pulled the door open and set her phone against her ear sliding the glass door shut behind her. As soon as she did so, he looked back to Kaya and they locked eyes. Is she okay? He mouthed.
Kaya just smiled returning his question with a she's fine.
He settled down after that looking back to his friends beside him as they continued to yell at the screen... His eyes never truly left her though. Thomas studied her carefully, the way she leaned against the railing eventually swinging her legs over to sit on it. The wind was blowing her hair gently, moonlight gliding across her pale skin.
Kaya sat back with nothing more than a smile on her face. Will had to question why she was doing so, but with one little nod in Thomas's direction he understood.
