"Keep acting like this, and I'm just going to have them pull the plug early." Charlie pointed her finger sternly at her grandfather.
"There's nothing to pull, I'm not hooked up to anything which is why I shouldn't even be here!" He tried again.
In the background, Thomas kept his hand over his face trying his best to contain the uncontrollable laughter. The two were worse than her and Jen. By now, the nurses had politely given up on keeping them quiet.
"Let me put of here Charlotte, or I'm telling this whole dammed place that you hit me."
Thomas couldn't take it. This time the laughter exploded.
"Got ahead ya stingy old bastered, I've been gone the past 7 months. I even brought a witness to prove it!" She motioned towards Thomas.
"If the boy has any two sense, he'll side with me."
"Yeah? And why's that?"
"Because!" He exclaimed. "Ifff you two are getting married next week, he's going to need my damn blessing!"
Covering her face in frustration, Charlie let out a breath as Thomas smiled towards her. "For the last time. We. Are. Not. Engaged." The drugs in her grandfather's system were more than she could handle.
"Then whose is that?!" He pointed at her.
"Whose is what?!"
"You don't know the father?!" He took off his glasses and threw them at her. She wasn't fast enough to catch them, so watching them fall apart upon contact she picked them up in frustration.
"I swear to God grandpa. If you even think that I am pregnant."
He looked like a scolded child. "You've gotten bigger charlie."
"GOODBYE GRANDPA!" She exclaimed grabbing her things. "I will pick you up in the morning when you don't remember a damn thing!"
"Oh I'll remember this."
Her stare turned cold as she forced Thomas towards the door. "I'll make sure you dont. Goodnight, I love you!"
The two had spent the day at the hospital together, and Charlie was on the brink of pulling her hair out. "The meds, I take it?" He smiled cheerily.
Rolling her eyes, she entered the elevator. "I'll give up on the man for a day. Pick him up when he's all grown up."
They chuckled together. "So." He shoved his hands into his pockets while they made their way towards the car. She looked at him waiting to continue. "Whose the father?" In response, Charlie freed her hand and landed a firm punch on his arm.
"Shut up."

Sitting on her bed, Thomas closed his eyes and tried to re-cap everything throughout the past few days.
"How does 10 a.m. sound?" Charlie called over her shoulder from the computer. "That will put you back in london tomorrow around... 7?"
"Yeah." He sat up. "That should be fine."
"Alright then." She closed her laptop. "Your flight leaves tomorrow at 10. Which means by request, you need to be there by 8."
"Gross."
"You don't have to tell me twice. I'll brew the coffee."
Chuckling, he sat up and looked around her room. Eventually, his eyes landed on her guitar. "You know." He groaned standing up and moving towards it. There, he grabbed ahold of it and took it back to her bed. "You really did sound amazing."
