Double Crossed
Ruechari snuck in the back door.
The jail cell was empty once more.
Junkyard Jimmy was now gone
She looked for Carob Bob wonderin'
Where he'd gone wrong.
Everything was quiet
And then she heard the click.
Her hands when up in surrender
She had to think of somethin' quick.
"I know you Sheriff, I know you well.
Can't we sit and talk a spell?
You done my Dad wrong but
He holds no ill will.
He sent me here to warn you,
Spent Shell is on your tail.
It may come to a showdown
If you don't hit the trail."
"It's not you I'm worried about."
The Sheriff said to me.
"I know you care, Ruechari.
It's him I'm aimin' at, not you KitKat."
I looked and standin' in the door
Was a man I never saw before,
He had a crazy look in his eye,
And I couldn't help but wonder why?
"You did this to me!" he accused.
He was a man standing on his last leg
A man who's been abused.
"I told you not to drink from the bottles!
It's not my fault if you got ill!"
the Sheriff said to him.
"Besides what you need is her not me.
If you ever wish to be free."
I looked at Carob Bob in disbelief,
"You low down, dirty, double crossin' thief!!!"
"How come?" Crazy Eyes asked.
Still not lowering his guns
Ready to blast.
"Because she's the daughter of the Chief."
