The Contest Sabotaged
Hunter got Lean into the carriage
With the gold and Crooked Smile
The others mounted up to ride
But Croc and Steel came up either side
Croc shouted at stannbear, called him a traitor
Steel joined in, said she'd get him later
Then they drew their guns and started shooting
And everybody started ducking
"Get that carriage outta here!" 3Gun shouted
Hunter would do it, he never doubted
Then riding hard he returned their fire
Those two had really raised his ire
Fearing the worst the two crooks bolted
Down the road and back to town
When the rest arrived they were jolted
They found Parker, the editor, down
While they were out foiling the theft
Cadmus and Steel had left the town bereft
They'd taken all the contest files and lit a fire
All the information gone, names they would require
They had captured the gold
So it wouldn't be sold
But now there was nothing to choose
CrazyGoose would have to impart the news
