Torture and Embarrassment

Kate's last hour at work dragged on forever. She called her dad and told him not to pick her up because she had a ride home. He sounded a little concerned but she told him not to worry. She was going out with a friend. She couldn't wait to get out so she could go talk to Link. The last 5 minutes of her shift were the most fun. Her friend was finishing up putting clothes away and she was helping him. He told her to hop on his folding cart and he wheeled her around on top until it was time for them to leave. She did almost fall off when he was turning it but they both laughed about it because she was ok.

Once 9:00 came Kate was ready to clock out. She couldn't wait to clock out so she could go see Link. When she was waiting for her manager to unlock the door, Link pulls up and gets out of his rental car that looks a lot like her dad's car. He walks over to the passenger side and leans on the car with his arms crossed. She starts to giggle at his attempt at being cool. Her friend asks her what she's laughing at and she just pointed at Link and continued to laugh. "Who's that, your Dad?" her friend asker her. "No. But he is my ride home and he is embarrassing the hell out of me" she replied. Kate keeps laughing at Link while shaking her head and walking to his car.

"What're you laughing at?" he asks. She replies "you and your attempt at being cool. It failed miserably." He then laughs and she laughs with him. He opens the door for her, she gets in, he closes the door and then gets in the driver's side and drives off.

​While Link's driving he looks over at her and smiles. She notices and says "What?" and then she smiles. He says "Oh nothing. I just realized that I don't know your name." She says "Oh well my name is Katelin but you can just call me Kate. Everyone else does." Link then says "Well then Kate, I have some things that I want to talk to you about." Kate grew a little concerned and asked him "what do you mean?" he replied with "a dream" and left it at that.
