Fate (Rhett and Link fanfic)

Curiosity

Link, Lando and Lincoln follow Lily out and head over to Link's apartment for the weekend. They have a blast. The kids have so much fun that they get upset when they have to leave. Link says he has to talk to their mother about something and Lily tilts her head like a curious dog. "What about, dad?" "You really won't let this go will you Lily?" Link asks her. "Nope" she replies with a smile.

She desperately wants to ask more. Link realizes this and sighs. He tells her "I'm going to ask your mother if I can take you next weekend as well because that way I can introduce you to my new friend." 

Lily smiles. "So can you tell us, or me, more about her dad? PLEEEEEEEASE?!?!?!?!" She's practically on her knees begging her father to tell her more. He smiles and tells Lily to go get her brothers. He then proceeds to tell the children all about Kate and how they met. He even told them that he knocked her over the second time they met. Lily laughed at her father's stupidity and Link just gave her a "you'll get it later" look. Then he continued with telling the kids all about her. 

Lily couldn't stop smiling. She was so happy for her dad. She could tell he was happy because he couldn't stop smiling the entire time he was talking about his "friend."

One Week Later.....

A week has now passed and Lily, Lincoln and Lando are all excited to meet Kate. They know all about her and love everything they hear. When Link goes to get Kate from the airport, he has to take his kids with him because he can't leave them in the apartment alone.

Kate sees Link with three little people next to him. Lily, Lincoln and Lando are all waiting for her. Link sees her first and waves for her to come over. She sees him and walks to where he is. She then sees Lily next to him on his right, Lincoln on his other side, and Lando hiding behind him. Kate says hello to Link and then introduces herself to the children. When Kate went to do this Lily said "I already know everything about you. Dad told me everything."

Kate looked surprised and said "Oh really?" She then gave a smirk towards Link which he saw but he acted like he didn't see it.  

They then go home and Kate gets unpacked. After she gets everything all set and she gets all settled, she snuggles up next to Link on the couch and watches TV with him. She then falls asleep with her head in his lap a little while later. Link wakes her up once the show they were watching was over and they went to bed. The next morning they wake up and Link goes to make breakfast. Lily, Lincoln and Lando come running into the kitchen and smell the food. They are immediately hungry. Link thinks to himself "sometimes I swear these children are Rhett's and not mine. They are always hungry." All five of them eat and spend a day just wandering around LA. It was great. Kate got the chance to explore the city more and she got to spend the entire day with the man she loved.

Later that night the kids had to go home. They didn't want to but they knew they would be back soon enough. They liked Kate and they were very happy to meet her. They all got along so well. This calmed Link down a bit because he wasn't sure if the kids were going to like her very much but they proved him wrong. 

When Link brought the kids home Christy introduced herself to Kate. Kate introduced herself and they hugged. When Kate went back to the car, Christy asked Link "are you sure about her?" and gestured towards Kate who was waiting for him in the car. He smiled and answered "Yes. I am very sure about her."
