Fate (Rhett and Link fanfic)

After Her

Now that Link was truly a free man he had to tell Kate. And he had to tell her in person. He took a weekend trip to New York to surprise her. This time he doesn't go to the store that she works in. He goes to her house. He knocks on her front door and her father answers.

Link asks Kate's father where she is and he says "she went out for a walk. She should be back soon. You can wait here until she comes home." "Thank you sir." Link waited. He looked around her house and admired everything that was in it. Then he got a brilliant idea. He was going to hide in her bedroom and wait until she went upstairs to surprise her.

When Kate gets home from her walk she is greeted by her mom and dad. Then she goes into her office to go on her laptop and do some web surfing. She then opens up iTunes and remembers that she left her earbuds in her bed from the night before. So she runs up the stairs and goes into her room. She then finds her earbuds under her pillow. She turns around and begins walking towards the door when she sees a note on her dresser. It was from Link. It read:

Kate,

I have big news to tell you. I figured I could call you or text you but it wouldn't be the same. So my question to you is will you come to California and be on a GMM with me and Rhett?

P.S. You know what time it is....

When Kate finished reading the letter she smiled and chuckled. This was Link's cue.

L: "So.... Will you?"

K: Gasps and turns around to see Link right behind her. "Oh my god! Link! You scared the crap outta me!"

L: "Hahaha sorry. Didn't mean to."

K: "Don't do that!" She slaps him playfully on the arm.

L: "So what do you think?"

K: "I think that I would like to know what you have to tell me."

L: "Well then you will just have to come to LA with me and find out."

K: "Oh fine. I'll go. When are we leaving?"

L: "Tomorrow so get packing missy!"

K: "Hahaha yes sir!"

L: "Good girl!"

K: "I am not a dog Link."

L: Raising one eyebrow "are you sure?"

Kate rolls her eyes, smiles and shakes her head but doesn't answer. Instead she starts packing. She is so excited for her trip to LA. She can't wait until tomorrow.
