The Call

A few days after Link left New York, Kate gets a text. She reads the text that she got. It said "Hey." It was from an unknown number but she recognized the area code. It was that of a North Carolina number. She knows this because her cousin is from North Carolina and she texts him all the time.

So once she realized that it's from a North Carolina number she starts getting a whole bunch of thoughts in her head. She had one main thought in her head but she wasn't exactly sure of who was texting her. She hastily answers the text she got with "ummmmmm..... Hello. Do I know you?" The next text she got cracked her up. It said "well you should. You were just kissing me a few days ago."

​When Kate realized it was Link texting her, the first thought that went through her head was "why does Link have my number?" Then she remembered that when he dropped her off the night they went for coffee, she wrote her number on his hand. She then decided to call him because she just loves the sound of his voice. It's so soothing to her.

He answers the phone and she almost melts when he says hello. Kate doesn't say anything for a few seconds. She was still recovering from her episode of falling for him when he snapped her out of it. She then talks to him for a really long time.

​They talk about a lot of different things like music, movies and other entertainment activities they like. Then he says that he has to go because he was in the middle of an argument with his wife and he just needed to get his mind off of it.

She wonders what that argument was about. She was a little sad that he had to go but he told her that she will always be in the back of his mind and that she was a big help to him. He also told her that he will talk to her when he gets a chance. He says goodbye, and so does she, and then he hangs up. Before he hangs up she says "I love you..." She hoped he didn't hear that and that he hung up before she actually said that.
