Kate is a 19 year old girl who loves Rhett and Link. She is a working girl who also goes to college. One little shift at work changed her life forever.
When Link and Kate get back to her house, they say hello to her parents and then they go inside and put a movie on. Kate makes Link pick a movie because she has seen everything in her house multiple times. He ends up picking her most favorite movie of all time "The Little Mermaid." Kate thought to herself "well this is ironic" and started to chuckle. "What're you laughing about missy?" Link asked. "Oh nothing..... Just this" and she shows Link a side-by-side picture of him and Prince Eric (Pic below).

"Oh. Well I knew about that. That was just part of a skit we did for the mythical show. But you knew that already" Link said. Kate laughed and said "yeah. I did." She hesitated because she wanted to say more but she didn't quite know how to word it. She ended up saying "I am actually Ariel in another life. I can sing, I can swim, I fall for guys with black hair and blue eyes..." She laughed uncomfortably. "I'm sorry to tell you this Link but it's important to me." She laughs."Hey if you can sing, then you should perform for me one day. And I mean not just in the car to some random song" Link said. "Maybe I will" she thought.
Kate then continued saying "I have always been in love with Eric. Ever since I was a kid. This movie is a huge part of my life. It's one of the reasons I love to sing. Whenever I'm in the pool or the ocean my parents would call me either a fish or a mermaid. It was mostly fish though. I have a freaking flounder plushy that I've had since I was about 4 years old and I have a little mermaid bikini. Yeah I'm a little obsessed with that whole movie." She laughs and continues. "I remember the last time I went to Disney world in Orlando and I saw Ariel and Eric and I felt like a kid again because I got to hug Prince Eric and get a picture with him. I was so nervous but extremely excited."
"Anyway, the reason I'm telling you this Link, is because ever since that episode of the Mythical Show, I knew I was obsessed with you. I have dreamed about going to California and meeting you and just getting to see you in person one random day on the street and now look at me. I mean we're in my house about to watch a movie together. I wasn't even thinking about this when I was daydreaming. Wow I have a problem-haha!" "Well I don't think you're the only one with that problem... although now that I think about it..." Link said. "Oh shut up Link!" Kate said and laughed.
Kate and Link have been so busy talking that they didn't realize that her mother called them for dinner 10 minutes ago. So when her mother goes to look for them, she sees them in the office talking and overhears the last thing that Kate said to Link. "Uhhhh.... Kate can I talk to you for a sec?" Her mom asks. "Sure mom. What's up?" "Is there any reason you're calling your friend over there 'Link'?"
Kate lets out a big sigh and said "yes mom. It's because that's his name. Well at least that's what everyone that knows him calls him. I've rarely heard him introduce himself as Charles which is why I was surprised when he said that to Dad earlier." "Huh..... And exactly how many people know him?" Asked her mother. "About 9 million throughout the world. But it probably is more than that now" Kate replied. "Oh wow. So this IS the Link you were telling me about." her mom said. "Yeah...." Kate said quietly. She then decides to tell her mom basically everything that happened. She asked "Should I go tell him to leave?" "No, just tell him that i know and that when your father finds out he will not be as ok with this as i am" Her mom said. "Ok mom."
Kate then went back to talk to Link and tell him what happened with her mom. "Oh so now she knows about me?" Link asked and Kate nodded. "I just don't know what my dad's gonna say when he finds out who you really are."
