"Will you marry me?"

Kate smiled at Link. A tear was streaming down her cheek. Link wiped it away with his thumb. "What's wrong my love?" He asks her. She is speechless. Her mouth wide open. Eventually she stutters "I-I-I just don't know what to say.... I mean... I love you. I always have from the first day I ever saw your videos. I feel like I've known you forever just because of what you and Rhett talked about every day. And now we're out to dinner on my birthday and you give me the best birthday present I have ever received." She pauses for a moment to catch her breath. "You gave me exactly what I wished for."

"I did?" Link asks surprised.

"Yes you did." Kate says with a smile.

"Really? How?" He asks confused.

Kate sighs and rolls her eyes at Link. "Yes. I wished for something amazing to happen tonight. I honestly didn't think you even remembered it was my birthday. I told you so long ago.... Wow was I wrong. Hahahaha!"

Link laughs along with her. "How could I forget one of the most important days of the year? I mean aside from Christmas.... And MY birthday." Link winks at her and smiles. She giggles and rolls her eyes again. He always finds a way to make her laugh even at the most serious of times.

"So..... What's it to be?" Link asks Kate as serious as he can. There's still a crooked smile on his face.

Kate sighs and smiles the biggest smile she can without hurting herself. After a long pause she says "Yes... Yes I will."

They then both stand up, he places the ring on her finger and he looks down at her. He looks right into her eyes. Kate searches Link's breathtaking baby blue eyes for something to stop her but she can't find anything. She wasn't really expecting to find anything anyway. She was having the best day of her life. It was exactly what she wished for and somehow she had a feeling Link knew that. She knew that Link was the one for her. He was perfect. "Wow" she thinks to herself.

In that moment they were the only two people in the world. Link has only one thing left to do. He takes his right hand and gently places it on her left cheek. He gently runs his thumb back and forth on her cheek and smiles while admiring her beauty. "I am a lucky man" he thinks to himself. Then he slowly leans in and tilts his head slightly to one side. She closes her eyes and wraps her arms around his neck. He places a soft but passion filled kiss upon her lips.

"Let's go home" Link says to Kate after what feels like a lifetime. Kate nods her head and smiles. Link takes her hand. They walk out of the restaurant and Kate loops her arm in Link's and rests her head on his shoulder as they walk to his car. Link drives back to his father's house and when they get there his father asked him "So how'd it go, son?"

"She said 'yes'!" Link replied and Kate showed him the ring. It was a simple Irish claddagh ring but it was beautiful. Apparently it was in the Neal family for generations. They brought it with them when they left Ireland during the famine. Kate was going to treasure that ring because she knew how much it meant to Link and his family. After Link and Kate talked to his father for a while, they were both tired so they went to bed. While Kate was getting ready for bed she took off the ring and admired it for a while until Link came in. "Whatcha lookin' at?" He asked her.

"Oh nothing. Just the ring. It's beautiful" she said with a smile. She then placed it on the dresser beside the bed. Link came up behind Kate and hugged her from behind. "Just like you" he said after he kissed her cheek. They then crawled into bed. Link wrapped an arm around Kate. She was already fast asleep. He went to sleep shortly after considering the very exciting and nerve wracking day he had.
