The Next Morning

The next morning has come and Kate was excited for the day. She wondered what other secret plans Link had for the remainder of their trip. It was a bit colder than she expected it to be but it didn't really bother her that much and  she wasn't thinking about that at the moment. Instead Kate was thinking about the amazing night she had with Link. She thinks about everything that happened leading up to it. From the first time he ran into her those many months ago. She thinks to herself "what could possibly go wrong? My life is perfect and I wouldn't want it any other way."

She opens her eyes and expects to see Link next to her in bed but he wasn't there. She then looks on her dresser and sees that there is no ring. Kate slowly realized she wasn't even in his old bedroom at his father's house. She was at her house, in New York, in her own bedroom. She wondered why.

She got up and checked her phone. It was almost 9:30 and her alarm was about to go off. It did and when it did she heard the familiar sound of the Graduation Song. She turned the alarm off and checked the date. It was Thursday, February 11th 2016. She was off from school because of presidents' week and had work later that day. She had work at 6:00 and was in no mood to go.

Hoping that some of the things that she thought happened, she goes to her laptop. She searches the Rhett and Link 4 channel on YouTube for the "song for when you're having a bad day" but as she suspected it wasn't there. She then searches her own YouTube channel for "Ours" but she never did it.

It was all just a dream.

A little disappointed she starts to tear up. Everything felt so real to her. She can't believe it was all a dream. The only thing she can think of is watch GMM. She just wants to see Link again one more time. So she does and when Link smiles her heart breaks in two because she will never see that smile in person ever again.

Eventually it was time for Kate to go to work. She really didn't want to after everything that she went through in her dreams. It was all taken away from her because it never actually happened. She sobbed quietly to herself the entire way to work. "I can't believe it was all just a dream" was the only thing going through her mind the entire night.
